Quick update, getting over a cold. Everything has been hard. I had to even take a break from school, not just Youtube because of how bad it affected my mental health. I hope no one goes through this. I’m so scared.

My mental health got so bad that I wasn’t eating or getting out of bed—a shared experience with so many Americans. I wasn’t sure that getting help would even work, but it did, and I want the same for everybody else. My U.S. Senate Commission on Mental Health Act is a start.

So I’m back in England & I just opened a package containing the latest copies of my book! I’m super excited! I can’t deny it, I’m really emotional. It hasn’t been easy. Leaving my parents behind in Lebanon when I was 17 & coming to England. Working 70 hours a week to survive. Studying intensely to get into medical school. Developing a mental health condition with severe and debilitating symptoms & being forced to take a year out & repeat 2 years. The stigma. The racism. The poverty. The accommodation insecurity. It feels like I’ve been to hell & back. In my despair I thought about ending it all but Alhamdulillah I didn’t. Breakthrough is my story of hope, resilience, and mental health recovery & is available for pre-order & will be released on the 18th of April:

Jumbo has been battling health issues for a few weeks. He had a big series of tests this morning and it confirmed what I sadly knew in my own gut already. Jumbo has a week or 2 to live at most. Very late stage kidney failure. The finality of It is like a punch to the stomach. I rescued him from the streets 18 months ago. The damage had been done to him from neglect over the years. His health is going down so fast I wanted to take a short walk with him in the sun. I’m hoping it won’t be our last just yet but the steps were not easy. 🥲

i joke a lot on this app and will continue to do so but mental health is no. 1 for me. i am praying once this movie wraps up h gets a good break. i couldn’t even imagine how mentally taxing all of this must be. i also appreciate him being transparent even if it is upsetting :(

UPDATE ON MY HEALTH: I had the procedure this morning to check for cancer. I will not know the results for up to 2 weeks. I’m going to take a short break because I'm in pain & but wanted to thank you all for your love & kindness. I will update you as soon as I know. Thank you! 🙏
