Quick update on Helene response to address some concerns we're all seeing online. Military, FEMA, blockades, gov't creating hurricanes, etc. Bottom-line: Western North Carolina is pulling together. They need our support. This is the beginning of a long-term mission.

This guy is a voice of reason. I have listened/followed him for some time. I don’t live in North Carolina, but that state is lucky to have him.

I love a level-headed update filled with nuance, and maintains respect to all those helping.

Jeff, why are there actual videos of FEMA helicopters in Asheville blocking runways for those private planes to land?? You say they get cleared to land, but that doesn't pass the sniff test.

Please explain the NG helicopters rotor-washing private aid stations. I'm sure you're looking into this, being a lawyer and former military member, concerned about the reputation of the guard, and gov't entities helping out. BTW, this isn't misinformation, we've seen the video footage and three people have their hospital intake papers to prove they were injured by this obvious act of interference. Roads may not be closed, and of course gov't didn't create the storm, but there have been some unacceptable behaviors for which someone needs to be held publicly accountable.

You should give Ron DeSantis a call and thank him personally.

Maybe you should listen to the people and not read from the script. Here is a fact: A citizen deployed communications via Starlink. Government was never able to do it even though they pretended with last massive spending bill 3 yrs ago to say they would provide internet to rural communities. Talk to the people - do the right thing and admit failures- only way we learn and move forward better is to be honest.
