Prime minister of Greenland told me that children in Greenland are now afraid of Americans. In Denmark, Chinese now poll higher than Americans. Denmark used to be one of our strongest allies. All of our European allies are just wondering, "What happened?" They’re asking, "What is going on?" I had conversation with PM of Denmark and PM of Greenland, and obviously they’re angry at us, the U.S. senators. They say, "Why are we allowing this to happen? Is U.S. President going to invade Greenland?" And all we could say is, "We hope not. We’re trying to push back against this." I try to explain to them that United States they know, the ally, is still there. It’s just one level down. You just have to get through this administration. You have to get past President and immediate people around him. But American people are still your friends, and we are still your allies. We’re going to have to get beyond this administration to try to repair the relationship.
