🩸Raghuram Rajan's blunt message: A chip factory doesn't make India technologically independent. If the machines, wafers & core IP are imported, dependency remains. Build world-class universities. Create patents. Own the technology. That's how nations lead.

I wish he had words of wisdom during Congress ERA...

This Dimagi Naxal must know that India at least has few chip manufacturing establishments post 2014. There were none prior to 2014 when other countries like US and China started producing chips since 1970s.

congress was neven in favour of self-reliant India. If we make chips, we no longer depend on other countries for them, remember the time when China was attacking taiwan, chips supply got affected, we had huge waiting time for cars delivery

Mandbuddhi aadmi hai. Pay a handful of professors from any premier university and they'll hand you over a design in little time. He got shat on for claiming chip smuggling is cutting edge solution and is now making up more bullshit to discourage manufacturing. Gadha aadmi.

He is partly right. But, he is ignoring the fact that Indian Institutes are generating loads of IPs without any use/application or nobody is translating them into product. Till you not starting own manufacturing, IPs don't help. Also international university ranking is partial.

Why own IP when you can smuggle chips 😂

What TSMC of Taiwan then? I think his argument is wrong

What bakwaas. Any manufacturing ADDS jobs to people. Why was this not executed during Congi ERA ? 'Build world-class universities. Create patents. Own the technology.'. Advicing is easy. Even Arse hole has an opinion. And it is called 'FART'.

Who is he? Oh... He is the mentor of Rahul....

Tell this gentleman these changes can’t happen overnight and government is steadily working towards achieving new milestones. If you can’t support/help/guide in a positive way then it’s good to let them do what they’re doing.

Economists have predicted nine out of the last five recessions. This man is not aware of how core competency is built, Technology is used to gain competitive advantage.

Who stopped him from doing that when he was ruling the roost ? His core competence is electrical engg how many patents he has ?

He is right, but he has not bothered to check our progress in the past 10 years. govt has made huge strides fixing electricity capacity deficit, pollution, naxalites, terror, poor roads/ports, human resource development, innovation, incentives for R&D, mfg & raw materials

China started with chip factories, then moved to their own technologies You learn bicycle by falling and failing,Raguram Rajan is shit, any businesses start small and scaleup, it's common sense

Kitne bana diye 60 saal me ye to bata

That is what Congress kept doing since 1947- Building top class universities. Did we get what Raghuram Rajan is arguing? He is Congressman by heart and American Economist by profession. While he was RBI Governor under UPA rule our country got ruined industrially & financially!

There's a very good reason why this joker was kicked out of the Govt. He is too full of himself just like his Boss & interjects with opinion that nobody asked for. For the love of god, the idiot was even against manufacturing & wanted India to focus only on Services!!

Most chips are designed in India, 25% of the workforce is in India, Adani & a few other companies have already made their wafers and silicon ingots, gas and chemicals are also being manufactured, and machines are available for sale, be it Dutch or Japanese, idk why so much hate

These LeLi’s are best in producing world salad, no implementations on ground. At least let’s start somewhere gradually things will settle in its place.

India never asked for his advise! India does not care a fig about him. He has still been not able to digest the fact that he was kicked out of Indians the RBI governor. After that India has had a very good growth story.

Any idiotic logic Just any will do Even a leper can create 1,000,000 such arguments for and against So he says be a beggar for another 50 years - don’t start anything new

Chutiya logic Every new technology is an iteration on the existing one. If we don’t make fabs with foreign dependencies, we’ll have to essentially reinvent the wheel. Instead, fabs would create jobs and also a skilled workforce that doesn’t have to reinvent the wheel

Under the UPA, India had neither a commercial semiconductor fab ecosystem nor anything close to todays level of domestic patenting. Progress happens in stages: build manufacturing first, then deepen R&D, patents and indigenous IP. You cant skip the first step and demand the last.

But China does not even have technology and still leading manufac.. even a single country does not has technology. rare earths are supplied by country 1 , processing technology only have country 2, semiconductor machines technology country 3, chip manufacturing technology coutry4

lol. It’s quite fundamental. India is already moving in wafer production. Plus most of the countries doesn’t built wafer, or lithography? 1 or 2 countries does it . Also , you start from somewhere, then go up in value chain. Because of idiots like him India is poor.

IP spamming is good until you realize it doesn’t transition the workforce from agriculture to productive jobs because not only it needs higher education but it also creates very few jobs Manufacturing does that transition which can then be translated into this IP stuff later

if #RaghuRamRajan is so concerned, he should quit #USA, return to #India and work in some academic institution to do his bit to build world-class Universities in #India that in future will invent/innovate and learn to be self-reliant

Patents cannot come from just universities, there needs to be a scenario of practical application. It is the collaboration and confluence of university and industry that paves the path for current research and innovation resulting in patents and inventions. WTF, RBI governor ?

World class Universities are just buildings without great students. The entry to these universities should be very well regulated so that merit always triumphs.

It's scaring to think that some day for all you know, RaGa may come tk power and such donkeys may guide their greater donkey leader on technology and industry policy.

According to Raghuram Rajan, the best option before India is not to start somewhere but just sit idle like Manmohan Singh and all the PMs before him did and remain a vassal of US (his own country).

Na na mahamanav 🦸 have to do fake pr that look india is making chip but in reality its all a scam 😒😒 Modi ji literally destroyed all the glory of past 10 yrs

When he was RBI GOV, how many world class University he created? Advised to create? How many such projects landed on ground? None!! Vakchodi करना इनको आता है wanki न इनकी बात gappu ने मानी ना साहेब ने!!😀😀

But the blunt master himself was at helm of the RBI bank which controlled the currency of country which was printed outside India with foreign technology and machines.

I can't stop thinking about this question: Are you willing to sprint when the distance is unknown? In 2021, Georgia Tech strength coach Lewis Caralla delivered this epic speech to the football team. If it doesn't get you motivated, you may need to check your pulse... He opens with a few harsh truths: • Winning isn't loyal to you • Winning doesn't care about you • Winning doesn't care how sore you are • Winning doesn't care how hard you work • Winning doesn't care how much sleep you get But it's his question that stuck with me: Are you willing to sprint when the distance is unknown? The willingness to sprint with no clear view of the finish line is rare. It requires two things: 1. A deep belief in one's self 2. A deep belief in the mission If you have 1 but not 2, you won't be able to do it. If you have 2 but not 1, you won't be able to do it. You need both. In my observation, the greatest things in life are accomplished when you're willing to sprint when the distance is unknown: The sprint to care for your loved ones in their time of need. The sprint to build something meaningful. The sprint to serve others and create positive ripples in the world. Goal: Find those rare things in life that you're willing to sprint for when the distance is unknown. That, to me, is the definition of winning. "And why chase winning? Because the only thing that's guaranteed in life if you don't chase it is losing."
