Everything like USA but having the election loser not join the winner to enjoy power without responsibility, is where Raila draws the line.

We do not need to copy & paste everything from the US! We have the capacity to think for ourselves, & design institutions according to our needs

Why should Kenya always be copying the US style of governance? The US system is an expensive one

This is one of the most exciting speeches I’ve heard in a long time. Congratulations to @RailaOdinga and @Senate_KE The Senate must be empowered to function as a true upper house, akin to the U.S. model. This should not be mere talk but a call to action backed by concrete reforms. Both the Senate and @NAssemblyKE do not require additional legislation to reclaim their independence from the executive, the Constitution already grants them that authority which they surrendered due to greed. What is needed is an expansion of the Senate’s role, with its responsibilities firmly entrenched in the Constitution and a new speaker, not the pathetic Kingi, maybe Marende and other honourable members who bring quality and character to the Senate not the like of Nyamu. The Senate should be empowered with passing national laws and vetting presidential appointments, including Supreme Court judges

Ironically, the people Raila Odinga is seeking for more Powers are already Misusing the "little" power they have by supporting a female fascist dictator who had arrested, tortured and deported Kenyans who legally visited Tanzania. Before you ask for more powers for the senate, We MUST evaluate what they do and confirm if it is of any benefit to the Nation. A whole senato stands in the August House to utter nonsense to encourage authoritarianism in East Africa which goes against the Principles of EAC.

Raila speaks so well of devolution, but when it comes to party tickets and allowing the people to choose their own leaders, that's where he draws the line. Most ODM governors placed in office by Baba are corrupt courtesy of Raila. He gives party tickets to the highest bidder

Should the Senate be added more powers as suggested by ODM Leader or be dissolved due to redundancy as previously proposed by critics pointing out at its lack of usefulness?
