RUTO’S CALL TO MACRON ENDS ODINGA’S AU CANDIDACY: In his infinite stupidity, outgoing Kenya President William Samoei Ruto, PhD said that he had spoken to France President Emmanuel Macron over the conflict in Eastern DRC. France viewed as funding the never-ending conflicts in their former colonies which have seen calls to shut down foreign bases and even depart from the regional currency CFA. Kenya had also sent its troops to DRC who were then later accused of collaborating with Rwanda-backed M23. Because of that, the Kenyan embassy in Congo was raided by protestors together with other countries from the region. William Ruto is said to be interested in the gold business and is a beneficiary of the crisis in the region. He has previously supported Sudan’s rebel leader Mohammed Dagalo Hemedti and is has been aiding oligarchs from Somalia to “colonize” Kenya through state-capture of strategic sectors. Because of this unsolicited meddling, William Ruto has effectively crushed Raila Odinga’s hopes of clinching the Africa Union chairmanship as the Francophone countries who want nothing to do with their former colonial masters expressed their anger over Ruto’s attempt to impose Macron in African issues.

SADC has a peace-keeping mission in DRC and William Ruto was undermining their efforts for personal gain because he’s become a gold smuggler. William Ruto’s contradictory positions on other thorny issues like Palestine and Ukraine were always at odds with official AU positions. There was no way Raila Odinga would have won with a gaffe-prone train-wreck in motion like William Ruto. Even the choreographed group from within ODM, who were only singing praises of the union with the State, seemed to forget that they were at a funeral. Was it a ceremony to endorse the union between ODM and Dr. Ruto or was it the burial of the Right Hon. Raila Odinga? They were trying to make political capital out of it and that is why there was no room for divergent opinions. They could have allowed one or two members from the opposition side to speak. It would also have made sense to give me time to speak as his running mate.

Rigathi Gachagua’s willingness to attend Raila Odinga’s burial is a reminder that even in the darkest moments of grief, unity must prevail over vengeance. Raila Odinga’s life was never defined by hatred — it was defined by forgiveness, resilience, and an unshakable belief that Kenya can heal, no matter how deep the wounds run. In Kasarani he forgave Moi, the man whose regime denied him peace. He embraced Kibaki, the president whose government humiliated him. He shook hands with Uhuru Kenyatta, the rival who once called him an enemy. And even with William Ruto whose regime detained his followers and watched them bleed Raila still believed in dialogue over destruction. That is who Raila Amollo Odinga was a man who rose above betrayal, pain, and division for the dream of one Kenya. Let no one shed blood in his name. Let no tribe raise arms in his memory.
