I suppose, but biblically you're ignoring the Old Testament and what God had to do to get his children to do what he wanted. Obviously you don't want your children to fear you all the time, but because they're kids... a healthy dose of "oh crap, Dad is coming" isn't a bad thing.

This guy is an idiot. The very first thing god told Adam and Eve is he would kill them if they disobeyed. With fear comes respect, through respect, love can occur.

This effeminate Christian world view makes me want to vomit. Spare not the rod. Fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom. Your kids need to know that you love them, but also fear the consequences of disobedience.

Have 3 healthy kids they are all very good kids, never (not once) needed to spank or hit them and for the most part they do what they are told to do. But sometimes fear is needed sorry it just is. As they get older and they know “aww my Dad won’t do anything if I do X” well they will do X ….good luck with the hugs and kisses
