Growing up in the sixties, if I was disrespectful, I got whacked at school—and usually got whacked again when I got home. Somehow, I survived all that “torture” and grew up to be a good man with six grandchildren. I believe learning respect, discipline, and consequences early in life is far better than waiting for the outside world to teach those lessons later. Those lessons can be a lot harsher than the occasional welt I got growing up.

Here's another tip: watch pro wrestling with your boy. I have the best time with my 6 yr old watching WWE. If you were into it as a kid, it's a bonus because you get to relive that utter joy by seeing him experience it for the first time.

I got spanked by the school principal and at home. It worked. I am not resentful and look back on being spanked as kinda funny in that that's what did the trick. I stay outta trouble to this day.
