🚨BUTLER ANNIVERSARY🚨 The Secret Service failed to detect Thomas Crooks’ drone flight, its location, or Crooks’ own position while he was operating the drone, missing a critical chance to identify and stop the assassination attempt. Although a counter-drone system was present on site on July 13, 2024, it was operated by a single under-trained technician who had not tested the equipment beforehand that morning. The event operator received informal training from another operator on setting up the counter-drone system, but received no training on troubleshooting. The operator who provided the training said the session lasted only 20 minutes. When the system malfunctioned, the operator spent several hours troubleshooting it—precisely the window during which Crooks conducted his nearly nine-minute drone flight completely undetected.

I am grateful to all of our partners who help us fight for air defense, for relevant deliveries. This is of extreme importance. On the diplomatic front, we are working hard not only to counter Russian influence, but also to persuade partners to increase their supply of air defense systems and missiles. The other issue is the availability of weapons and ammunition for our frontline warriors to carry out current and future missions in the coming months. We are well aware of what Russia is preparing for. They are war-sick and will not stop themselves. And we make every effort to have sufficient capabilities to counter them.

What you see is literally a dog fight between two drones. One is a Ukrainian reconnaissance drone and the other is a Russian FPV counter reconnaissance drone. After spotting the Ukrainian drone, the Russian FPV operator rams itself where the propeller is and downs the Ukrainian reco drone. Not just it, the Russian drone could be seen safe and it was asked to RTH.
