@RandPaul He's right in a perfect world when there are a lot more republican (non rino) seats in both houses. But the reality is compromises must be made and Trump is changing a lot already a shutdown right now isn't good. but the spending must stop somehow. What's rand's plan?

@RandPaul The Democrats love these spending levels and MAGA crowd will continue to follow their leader over the fiscal with them. Everything @RepThomasMassie has warned about the uniparty has been proven 100% correct.

Rand and Massie know the plan. They are correct on principle, but wrong on process. They are not team players. The debt ceiling was reached on Jan. 25, 2025. Five day after Trump came into office. The plan has been to cut spending through reconciliation. It is the only viable option to get past the filibuster in the Senate. They are well aware of this. Speaker Johnson used his clout as Speaker to force Senate Republican's to meet to start the framework through reconciliation to push through Trump's agenda back in June 2024. He was confident President Trump would win.

@RandPaul You will have a chance at a reasonable budget in September (the new fiscal year). There were two options at this time, the CR or shutdown. The votes weren't there for anything else. Given that, once again Paul and Massie seem to be grand standing.

@RandPaul I love Rand and Massie if only congress wasn't a corrupted sick world their principles could be put into play. However Repubs have only a sprinkle of extra seats and not much negotiating power.
