Some great comments about the 9 v 147. I do feel the nine darter is underestimated. It has to be perfection. I've seen many 147 breaks where players have played a 'poor' shot and then recover. That's taking nothing away from the 147 btw - it just doesn't have to be 'perfect'.

He did an exhibition in my club last year and I saw him throwing a few darts and I can tell u from seeing him throw 12 darts and watching darts with 35 years that he never hit a 9 darter

I believe him but I think he has the time line out of sync as I think it was AFTER he was the first man to walk on the moon not before 😑

Ive never seen him even hold a dart and the way he tells his story , I’m convinced it’s bullshit, I’ve played darts for over 25 years and know many excellent players who haven’t done it , it’s not a thing a non dart player can just luckily do

Anyone ever corroborated his 9 darter?

When you listen to the way he talks about the 'nine darter' it does sound a bit like he randomly hit three 180s in a row while playing with mates. Which is still amazing. But it doesn't sound like he won a 501 leg in nine darts. But i don't want to be a killjoy!
