Cool to see more talking about this. Rob Gray has been helpful for me. What she is actually referring to is constant vs. variable practice. Random vs block is when you do totally different skills.

When you were in school, how did you memorize your TIMES TABLE in math? How did you memorize your A B C’s? A poem? State Capitals? Random training? Once you got good with the information you memorized, THEN.., you could ask someone to quiz you and ask you a ‘Random’ question.
