Ranking Workouts for Weight Loss
35 条评论

People who don’t do yoga just think of it in terms of flexibility, but it builds STRENGTH too.

So as most people know, or should know…combine walking and weight lifting. Easy, sustainable, low impact for joints.

Swimming has got to be a 10, insanely effective for weight loss. However, I like rowing. I've found that since I hate working out rowing is the one thing I'll do consistently and it seems highly effective.

Weightlifting a nine out of ten for specifically losing weight? In what world is this the case

Yoga should rank higher if your weight gain is hormonal and not purely over eating.

I find running for me is the best way to lose weight and maintain weight.

If you’re walking a course while golfing how is it a 4/5 while walking is a 10?

I find the best is walking BUT to walk as a natural part of your life. It helps to live in a walkable city where you walk to the gym, walk to your errands, walk to work, walk to dinner, etc. No need for a treadmill or to walk just to walk. It just becomes a natural part of your life.

Cycling???

walking does wonders

Best way by far to sustainably lose weight and maintain muscle & strength is a combination of intense weightlifting, walking, and eating well. Life’s cheat code. Make it your routine and you’ll be in amazing shape year round

Yoga can be low intensity, low cal burn, low muscle resistance… or the opposite! Depends what kind of yoga you do.

Cycling: 12/10

Was doing 4 days a week at the gym. Mix of strength/cardio. I got a dog in October & couldn’t get the hours in. I dropped from 4 days to 2 day (strength only) and upped my walking with her. Happy me. Happy dog. Literally no change in my physical health. 100% Better mental health.

Weight lifting and running can’t fail. The walking trend reflective of the fat ass epidemic in west

1)Walking the most underrated

Strength training x3 per week. - Finish each session with a 15-20 minute treadmill walk on a steep incline. Swimming sessions x2 a week. - Sauna session at the end of each. High Protein and complex carbohydrates. You’ll absolutely fucking melt fat and get shredded.

lol the first one walking is 10 but golf only walking without golf cart, alcohol, carry the clubs without wheels, turns into weights workout, if played very primitively 8 holes then golfing should be 10/10

Thoughts on tennis? And while at it, pickleball/padel also?

I always recommend Weightlifting. Once you build the muscle you pretty much lose weight doing nonthing

@grok where does 'walking to the fridge and back' rank on this list because that's currently my main cardio

Would agree with just about everything but the golf if you’re walking. You could get that 10k steps in on a full 18 holes and your adding in the act of firing muscles on your swing. Plus, it’s mentally challenging on top of things that the other options don’t offer as much.

You don’t really know much about yoga, do you? Proper strength-based yoga is comparable to calisthenics—you can build real muscle with it and lose weight. Calling it a 2/10 is ridiculous

He gives walking a 10 and says golf is a 2 if you dont walk and a 4 if you walk? So walking for around 3 hours carrying a 15 kg bag in varied terrain is less efficient than just walking? Has this guy played golf?

Calorie deficit is the king of fat loss

Suryanamakar. 1 hr can easily burn more calories than jogging

Zone 2 plus resistance training is the quiet champion. In my African diaspora patients, adding 2x/week strength work drops A1c faster than diet tweaks alone. Muscle is metabolic currency. Build it while you still can. 🙏

Walking 18 holes carrying a heavy bag without all the food and drinks is amazing for weight loss.

Walking 10/10, running 5/10 and one of your arguments is joint health. Running doesn’t destroy joints. That’s an obsolete argument by people that can’t run.

What about cycling? 🚴

How about Tennis

Surely walking in golf is 10/10 if walking if 10/10 if you drink water and have healthy snacks as you play.

golf somehow got up to 5 ??? 🤣

@icy0p grit exercise is one of the HIIT workouts. It’s good for longevity 😏
