Right, this is the perfect example of everything that is wrong with car design at the moment. It takes a second or less to pull the charge flap open after you’ve pressed it in (which you still have to do here), and again to close. This is absolutely fucking... show more

I hope it runs off a separate battery because if the car's completely dead and needs charging and... well, you finish the sentence!

All of these systems run off the 12v battery.

Is it so they can lock it shut remotely if you get caught criticising them on twitter ?

😂😂😂

This isn't designed for lazy customers. This is design by committee when you are out of original ideas and you just start adding random nonsense to a product no one asked for and call it a new feature. This is lazy engineering.

@markwneale Love it 😁👍

Could not agree more. I have an EV6 and the cost of replacing the charge cap is £500! if it breaks. I have done so once!

😳

I guess the theory is you press it, go and grab the cable, then it's open and ready. And when done, it's closing while you put the cable back. A solution to a not-a-problem and completely unnecessary. Btw, I'm continuing to find your balanced EV views refreshing 👍

Thankyou. I’m 100% behind them as a daily solution, but my god they need to stop with the weight and pointless vajazzle.
