Oklahomans don’t want a tax increase on top of four years of rapid inflation under President Biden. This week we are taking the first step to ensure taxes don’t go up for Oklahomans and Americans across the country.

2026 Could Mirror 2006 as Markets Surge, Naira Strengthens We should expect that 2026 will be similar to 2006, when we saw the stock market increase fivefold, growth accelerate, the naira gain strength, and inflation stabilise. We should expect rapid tranquillity. Economist, Dr Ayo Teriba

Inflation destroys civilisations. Extremist politics follows high inflation. It comes up again and again in the historical record: • In Rome, debasement to pay soldiers led to rapid inflation. Diocletian blamed profiteers in the Edict on Maximum Prices in 301 AD, introducing price caps. • New world gold drove up Spanish prices. By the 1600s, 1/2 of adult men were rent-receiving: soldiers or priests. • Hyperinflation destroyed trust in the Weimar state, making it ripe for extremist takeover. Empirical studies find more antisemitism in places hit hardest. • 1960s and 1970s price hikes led to protests and massacres in the USSR. • The postwar consensus in Anglosphere countries was scrapped after 1970s stagflation. Listen to the latest episode of the Works in Progress politics, in which Mark Koyama, Pieter Garicano and I discuss why people hate inflation so much, discuss the striking historical cases where inflation caused instability, and speculate on how inflation-induced low trust in the state is making us all worse off. .Elon Musk, it's never good form to use ad hominem. It's better to use logic & facts. As my good friend and mentor, Nobelist Milton Friedman, put it: "There has NEVER in history been an INFLATION that was not accompanied by an extremely rapid INCREASE in the QUANTITY of MONEY."

🚨🇺🇸 TRUMP AT DAVOS: AFTER ONE YEAR, U.S. ECONOMY BOOMING WITH HIGH GROWTH AND DEFEATED INFLATION Trump shows up in Davos declaring total victory. Economy booming. Growth “exploding.” Productivity surging. Investment soaring. Incomes rising. Inflation apparently dead and buried. Border sealed shut. History made. Roll credits. "I've come to this year's World Economic Forum with truly phenomenal news from America. Yesterday marked the one-year anniversary of my inauguration, and today, after 12 months back in the White House, our economy is booming, growth is exploding, productivity is surging, investment is soaring, incomes are rising, and inflation has been defeated. Our previously open and dangerous border is closed and virtually impenetrable. And the United States is in the midst of the fastest and most dramatic economic turnaround in our country's history. Under the Biden administration, America was plagued by the nightmare of stagflation, meaning low growth and high inflation, a recipe for misery, failure, and decline. But now, after just one year of my policies, we are witnessing the exact opposite. Virtually no inflation and extraordinarily high economic growth." Source: Donald J. Trump, Rapid Response 47

Investors will be watching two key economic indicators this week, with the Fed’s preferred inflation gauge due Wednesday and the September jobs report Friday. Neil Dutta, head of economic research at Renaissance Macro, tells David Gura and Ruffini to expect more Federal Reserve rate hikes ahead. “My sense is that the markets are ultimately going to have to price in a more rapid pace of Fed tightening.”
