Shaq reveals “the most valuable thing” his drill sergeant father did that taught him to never be complacent. Phillip Arthur Harrison wasn’t Shaq’s biological dad. Shaq is back with us. I’m not meant to have favorites but he has always been one of mine. The hardest part is making the right decisions for the dogs on an ongoing basis… 🏀 We fixed him initially and it took 2 months and 3 operations. Hardly any vets would take on the operation and it was a case of nearly losing him. 🌴 He recovered well. I used to love spending time with him as we had such a deep bond during his recovery at Happy Doggo 🐕 Shaq was not suitable for adoption. He’s a street dog through and through. He was a bad around other other dogs and quite old. I thought long and hard about his options 🏡 We found him his safe place to live. Some locals would look out for him and he was in no danger. He had shelter, regular food and 2 other friends he knew. Shaq loved it there. 💊 I would call down to him every month with his meds and for a check up with some sausages. He has been doing great. ☔️ Recently with very damp weather and humid temperatures a lot of dogs have been getting skin issues. Shaq has some of the worst I’ve seen despite being ok 2 weeks ago when I last saw him. 🦠 Shaq has a bacterial and fungal infection. 🧑🏽‍⚕️ We’ve brought him in for a 2 week stay to get it all fixed up and all his blood work and other little bits fixed. It’s like a spa break for him. People were messaging me asking if I was angry he ended up like this. Not at all. Shaq is a street dog who has a great life but he just needs some medicines and care now. Just like any pet or other dog we look after. I always told Shaq we’d look after him no matter what so it’s nice to have him back for a little bit of pampering.

I asked Dallas Mavericks GM Nico Harrison four questions today at his end-of-season press conference: Me: “You said me and Coach Kidd are aligned, you know the player(s) that he likes. But when it comes to a trade of this magnitude, it’s the main player that led y’all to the finals last season, so I wanted to ask you, what did that conversation look like at the 11th hour when you told him that y’all would be trading Luka Doncic, and do you think it was fair to him to have y’all’s entire team to be built around Luka, and then in the middle of the season him having to pivot to a completely different player to try to make the title run again?” Harrison: “I think there’s some difficulties anytime when you do a trade that big during the middle of the season. We saw it when we traded for Kyrie a couple years ago. Sometimes trades take a little longer to really see how good a trade it was. But I also know his connectivity to Anthony Davis. He won a championship with him with the Lakers. I know his admiration for him as a defensive player, and so I wasn’t worried about that.” Me: “What did y’all’s conversation look like when you let him know?” Harrison: “It was really brief. I just told him the reasoning behind it and let him know, and he understood and he got geared up to start white boarding to get ready to see how we would play with Anthony Davis.” Me: “Do you feel like he agreed with those reasons?” Harrison: “I don’t think it’s about agreeing, but he aligns with how I think in terms of defense wins championships. That’s how he feels. He also aligns with the philosophy of versatile style of play.
