There are a lot of myths about Alberta’s oil sands. One of the biggest is that once mining is complete, the land is simply abandoned. Suncor’s mobile reclamation exhibit offered a fascinating look at how reclaimed mine sites are being transformed into forests, wetlands, lakes, and wildlife habitat. It also highlighted something many people don’t realize: the majority of the water used in Suncor’s mining operations is continually recycled and reused, with new technologies being developed to safely treat water and return it to the environment as reclamation progresses. Alberta continues to prove that responsible energy development and environmental innovation go hand in hand.

First ever: To ensure the provision of clean drinking water to the people of South Punjab, a comprehensive project is being implemented at an unprecedented pace. Under this initiative: 🔹10 overhead reservoirs and 138 water centers are being established in Bahawalpur. 🔹12 overhead reservoirs and 256 water centers are being established in Rahim Yar Khan. 🔹7 overhead reservoirs and 100 water centers are being established in Rajanpur. The project, which began in March 2026, is scheduled for completion by September 2026. Once completed, these 29 reservoirs and 494 water centers will treat saline groundwater through modern filtration plants and supply clean drinking water directly to people's homes. InshaAllah!

🇱🇻 Latvia has completed construction of a fence along its border with Russia In total, around 280 kilometers of fencing have been built along the Latvian–Russian border, creating a continuous barrier in areas where this was technically feasible. The project cost approximately €146 million. The border is still being equipped with surveillance cameras and other technical systems, while patrol roads, bridges, and additional engineering infrastructure are under construction. Full completion of the works is planned by the end of 2026. Earlier, Latvia had already completed 145 kilometers of fencing along its border with Belarus.

India-Japan discussions on Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed train are in fact progressing well. Japan will provide the E-20 train series but only in the early 2030s. The train in question is still under development. Meanwhile, construction work has rapidly progressed. The first section will be opened in 2027 itself. Therefore, both sides agreed to start operations with the Indian high-speed train. Signalling equipment has been ordered accordingly and is in line with international specifications. No Japanese offer was received in this context. The project execution is in line with the common goal of starting the high-speed train project at the earliest."

When I saw this post from this Obidiot Chijioke, I knew this is not true. So I reached out to a friend, who is one of the engineers working on this project & he denied it outrightly. According to him, the project has been sectionalised, and it has never stopped since it started. As seen in the videos below, Section2,3,4 and 5 are at 90% completion, while sections 1, 6, 7, 8, & 9 are ongoing, also almost 60% completed. Bury your empty head filled with alcohol and fake soft drinks in shame.

Today, we had physical engagements with the Project team for the proposed Dangote Industrial City and Olokola Deep Seaport Project. A major step forward in delivering one of Nigeria’s most strategic infrastructure developments. As Project Manager, I emphasized the importance of alignment, speed, and accountability, in line with the clear mandate of the Group President/CEO of Dangote Group Alhaji Aliko Dangote. We had very productive engagements with all consultants and stakeholders, with a strong focus on execution plans, timelines, and deliverables required to bring this vision to reality in the shortest possible time. This project will be transformative, driving industrialisation, boosting logistics capacity, and creating significant economic opportunities for Nigeria and beyond. The work has begun, and we are fully committed to delivering.

Built to the same durable standard as the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway, this phase of the project is valued at ₦252 billion, with over 80% of the cost already covered under the leadership of President Tinubu. The section is scheduled for full completion by the first week of May 2026. Work is also progressing steadily on the remaining 164km stretch in Kaduna State, which is being constructed using the same reinforced concrete pavement standard. This phase is valued at ₦502 billion, with 70% of the funding already disbursed. The entire Abuja–Kaduna road project is on track for full completion by December 2026, and will feature comprehensive solar lighting throughout. This milestone reflects a strong commitment to delivering durable road infrastructure and improving connectivity across the region.
