I don’t really get why the Maxx Crosby trade talk is being treated like some massive franchise-changing move. He’s a great edge rusher, no doubt, but we’ve had T.J. Watt in Pittsburgh for years and it hasn’t exactly translated into playoff success. Elite pass rushers matter, but they’re not magic. Every offseason there’s a “big splash” trade that people say will change everything, and most of the time it doesn’t. Good player? Absolutely. But I don’t see why everyone assumes this suddenly makes a team a contender.
