I now have 6 (six!!!) animals in my home. I have two rescue dogs - my Maltese Cody and Lilly. Cody is 12 and Lilly is 10. I have Venice the rescue cat who will be a year old on 7/5 and Frankie cat (his name is Frankie cat. Period) the rescue cat who will be a year old in September. They have two little 4 week old kittens together, who I am calling Gray and Brownie for now. They are both little kitten boys and amazing. All of this is to say that I find SO. MUCH. JOY in caring for these animals. Feeding them, playing with them, cleaning up after them - all of it. The amount of LOVE that is in this home right now is unquantifiable. We’ve had Venice and the babies in our bedroom for a month. Today we decided we were going to try to bring the ENTIRE crew together. Frankie has come in several times and interacted with his babies and done awesome - he grooms them and gently plays. They are getting adventurous now so we decided we’d make a “safe room” for them, and we spent the day in there. Both my dogs, both my cats, AND THE KITTENS all hanging out together. It was just the most beautiful thing ever. Animals are the key to everything pure and good in the world. Here’s a little video. Introducing… 🐾The Forgotten Field Project🐾 What began as a simple errand to the dollar store last week, became a desperate situation Priya Gandolf’s Legacy Cat Rescue could not walk away from. Movement in the field next door caught Priya’s eye. Six abandoned 4 wk old kittens without their mother. A baby mother herself, barely six months old, with eyes clearly indicating illness, trying to care for 4 tiny two-week-old kittens. Her head sticking out of a makeshift shelter, eyes festering and a pleading look for help. She showed no fear, perhaps too unwell to run, or too weak. Cats running everywhere. Some terribly thin. Some appeared sick. Many with goopy, infected eyes. And a couple appear possibly pregnant. There are obvious signs that someone, at some point, had tried to help… Old makeshift shelters. Empty food dishes long dried up by the sun. But now they’re left alone, sick, hungry and a couple appear possibly pregnant. Priya hurried to get food and water, and they ate and drank with wild desperate hunger and thirst. This is not just a handful of cats. This is an unmanaged colony of approximately 30 fur babies living beside a dollar store, in an empty lot thick with brambles. Unsafe from road traffic, a busy parking lot, predators who roam the area. Trapped in the cruel cycle of kittens having kittens. It’s not a “lovely spot out in the woods”. We have managed many colonies over the years, and coming upon this tragedy never, ever! gets easy. And it never comes at a time when it’s financially or spatially feasible to help them. Because in rescue, perfect timing hardly ever exists. And wasting time and your breath harping about the neglect and cold hearted actions of humans…is well, just that. You just do…because turning your back would only be more of what has already been done to them! And they deserve Help. Food. Vet care. Relief. Love. Home. A Safe Soft place to land. So starting now and over this summer, with your help, we are taking this colony on as a full Rescue and TNR project. The Forgotten Field Project will focus on: • Regularly feeding every cat • Rescuing the adoptable ones/finding homes • Vet care/Treating all the sick and injured ones first! • TNR’ing the feral cats. Hopefully relocating them perhaps into a barn cat program, as releasing them back to this location is not the ideal place for them to be. And/or hopefully, finding homes that are willing to house and work with the feral ones. Some are just more “feral” than others and can be rehabilitated. Honestly, when the fear is handled, so is the “feral” in so many cases. They need a chance to discover what love is! • And most importantly… fixing all of them to STOP this heartbreaking vicious cycle of suffering and reproduction. This will not happen overnight. It’s a huge undertaking.🦾 It will take food, vetting, medication, spay/neuter appointments, recovery space, patience, and an enormous amount of community support. But we cannot turn our backs now that we’ve seen them, we must do. ❣️The six abandoned 4 wk old kittens are already safe with us and, thanks to your help, have their first vet visits on Wednesday, 5/20. Safe and loved, their lives are changed forever. Next up… 🚨 Immediate priority is to get the Momma with the goopy eyes and her 4 little kittens out. Though it appears it might be just infected eyes, it’s imperative that we get her out now, to get vet care. She’s nursing 4 babies, and she needs proper care, nutrition and a proper place to nurse and raise her babies. A mosquito laden, picker weed field, filled with fleas and ticks, in the soon to be sweltering Georgia heat is not that place! Hopefully, $200-$300 might prove to be sufficient for her vet bill, but there will be food to consider. And as the kittens grow, they will need their vetting as well. We expect that this could be at least an ~ $8000 project. Possibly more, depending on illness discovered. But we’ll start with one foot in front of the other. And continue. One cat at a time. One full belly at a time. One life changed at a time. If you can help us help them, we would be endlessly grateful. And THEY will be grateful to know that someone has finally come along who cares about them. Sentient beings know what love is...even if they exist in fear. To me this is just so special. This woman was sitting on the grassy hill in her neighborhood with her dog. These random kids came and they had a baseball and football and of course the dog wanted to say hi to them. So the woman went over and told them his name is Tommy and he would love to run with them. They said that's okay! He joined them as if he were a little kid as well. 🤗 What a precious dog and what awesome young men for letting him play with them. They made beautiful German Shepherd Tommy’s day! ❤️ Children actually outside playing and being kind and courteous. There is hope still yet. ❤️❤️

Okay, attic kitten update time. I went kitten trappin’ this morning. Successfully caught all 3 at one time. Boy did they freak out! Stopped the video, and spent 2 minutes talking to them and reaching into the trap to pet them before they calmed down. I set them downstairs for a minute to interact with Skippy, their brother, and then off to the vet we went. They were very calm on the trip there and back, and at the vet too. Yes, I talked to them quite a bit along the way. The vet says I have 3 very healthy black kittens. Not even any fleas. The vet did give them a bath (did I mention they freaked out when I trapped them? Food went everywhere!). Vet says I apparently took very good care of them. Guess that is good, but it is great for the kittens!

StickDAO is a web3 hub for people with special needs, a platform that spotlights and supports life changing ideas. 🪄 It's a 7 month old journey with a lot of beautiful memories. One of the most notable moments was meeting meow and Jupiter in Catstanbul. We can not thank enough for his continuous support to Stickman in his journey to become one of the Neuralink patients. Our founder , a spinal cord injury survivor, uses his computer with a stick in his mouth. He thinks web3 is the perfect platform for people with disabilities, they can easily socialize and grow. He says: "During the 18 years that he was battling with his condition, web3 was the only place he felt confident. I was just like any other people there and never felt discriminated against." Now, his goal is to move to the U.S. and apply for Neuralink. In short, our mission is to onboard people like him to the web3 ecosystem, educate them, invite them into our events, help them find job opportunities and share their stories in our community. This woman and her husband lived next to a local farmer. He passed away and his feral cats were suddenly left with nowhere to go. One day, a single cat showed up at their house, then two, then six, and at one point they had twelve! They were overwhelmed, a little frightened, but they were more heartbroken watching those sweet babies trying to survive the elements. They had all twelve of them fixed and taken to the vet for a thorough checkup. At first they made makeshift shelters for them. One day, she asked her husband if he could build a permanent fixture for them. To her surprise he said yes and they call it the “Catsle.” Though they are feral cats, the cats have become trusting of them and now they are part of the family. Look at that Cat Catsle! Beautiful!
