This is an object detector model running in React Native VisionCamera. I am looping through all the output data and drawing red boxes using simple JavaScript - even the model can be hotswapped! All of this while still running at more than 60 FPS 🤯 - no more native code!!

Finally got to build this. Create animations that use Core Animation on iOS and Animator on Android with zero JS overhead. Same animation. But one keeps running smoothly even when the UI thread is lagging. Introducing react-native-ease 🍃

We showed react-native-bottom-sheet at App.js, and it's ready to use today, built with support from Gobi. The sheet host, gestures, snapping and scrolling all run in native code, so drags stay smooth even when the JS thread is busy. Let's do a deep dive 🧵

Bone Tide is officially out on the App Store and Google Play 🎉 The React Native Expo version runs on the exact same TypeGPU engine as the Web game, shared 1:1 between both platforms. Only the UI was ported to React This was made possible by some amazing work across the React Native open source ecosystem. Huge thanks to William Candillon for react-native-webgpu and for always helping me resolve any issues incredibly quickly :D I think it’s a pretty cool showcase of what can be built with React Native nowadays. More details about the libraries used in the 🧵 featuring what might be the ultimate Software Mansion stack iOS: Android: Web:

I always wondered "What if I port my three.js game to Rust? Will it improve performance?" I finally ported it to both Rust Desktop and Rust WASM (that runs on the browser) Comparing the three.js version with the Rust desktop I had a clear winner: Rust desktop. But now I took the time to port it to the web using Web Assembly (WASM) And my conclusion is... A tie! Both versions averaged 42FPS (60FPS if running one at a time) So if your goal is to ship a web game, it doesn't even matter the tech you use. (Three.js is recommended because the ecossystem is huge though) As long you optmize well (Web workers, reduce triangles, draw calls, etc) you should be good to go. But in the event you want to ship a native game to publish on Steam a system language (Rust, C++, etc) will be better for you. Now I want to port the three.js game to Desktop using Electron and see the results. I'll let you know. Btw, I'm open to new freelance projects. If you have anything for me, my DMs are open!

Started using React Native two days ago and immediately fell down a tab-bar rabbit hole. I’d seen Instagram and Revolut collapse their tab bars on scroll while keeping every icon visible. I wanted that without giving up real iOS Liquid Glass. Turns out iOS 26’s public API can’t express that state. UITabBarMinimizeBehavior is an enum of when, not what. With onScrollDown, UIKit minimizes the bar to the active tab alone. There’s no parameter controlling what survives. So most implementations rebuild the visible bar as a custom component. Some use genuine glass materials, but the real UITabBar is gone and with it, the native selection capsule: that little blob that moves like a drop of water between tabs. You can reproduce it with separate springs on the leading and trailing edges. I didn’t want a reproduction. I wanted UIKit’s. Then I remembered a Flutter app i built some months back which uses cupertino_native. Flutter runs the app while a platform-view bridge renders a real UIKit UITabBar. Finding expo-glass-tabs clarified the compact geometry I wanted. The two ideas clicked: why not bridge a real UITabBar into React Native? Here’s the trick: a standalone UITabBar has no UITabBarController managing it, so Apple’s minimization rule never applies. That means I can control its frame and items myself. Expo Router still owns navigation and screen lifecycle. React Native detects scroll direction. Swift removes and restores the real item labels, recentres the icons and animates the native bar’s size. All five icons remain visible. The result keeps Apple’s Liquid Glass, water-drop capsule, hit testing and accessibility, while adding a compact state its public API doesn’t provide. One gotcha tho: detaching the bar means reimplementing everything the controller previously gave you for free. Active-tab reselect scrolling was one example

i'm too stubborn to simply give up on the concept of Benji after almost 10 years(!!) of iterating on it with different stacks... 2018: graphql backend + react SPA 2019: made a react native app for 6 months 2020: gave up on it and wrote 3 years of using other bs tools and being grumpy about them 2023: rewrote it in blitz js (JUGE mistake) 2024: iterate on react native + PWA + RN pwa wrapper 2025: time for a rewrite to Zero To Shipped ⛴️ stack (but next js sucks for this kind of app, add api, mcp, cross platform app, and many other things 2026: i want it all actions INSTANT AND FAST AF and next js is the wrong tech choice for a mostly client app, so i'm starting a rewrite with TANSTACK + Convex + Better Auth it feels so snappy 😭 btw 99% of the customers abandoned it, there are like 3 ride or die fans but i know i can turn it around!!!! let /goal cook.

"MEV is just not suitable for financial markets." This is the conversation happening across institutions and the industry at the highest levels. Injective addresses MEV at the protocol level. Transactions are batched and processed together at set intervals through a Frequent Batch Auction system. All orders are sealed until the auction closes, so no bot can peek at pending transactions and adjust ahead of them. Every order in a batch clears at a single uniform price, which removes the sequencing advantage that MEV relies on entirely. MEV resistance is native to Injective, the only chain built for financial markets to truly thrive.

On-chain activity is running hot. The market hasn't caught up.

If you’ve ever managed custom icons in React Native, you know the frustration of choosing between performance and developer experience. Libraries like 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝘁-𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲-𝘀𝘃𝗴 are flexible but heavy. Every icon creates its own React subtree. The alternative? Manual icon fonts that force you into a constant back-and-forth of using web tools like IcoMoon and syncing font assets every time a design changes. 𝗦𝗼𝗳𝘁𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝘀 just released 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝘁-𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲-𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗼-𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀 to solve exactly this. It’s a build-time icon font generator that gives you the performance of native fonts with the flexibility of simple SVG files. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴? Instead of rendering complex vector paths at runtime, this library automatically converts your folder of SVGs into an optimized icon font during the build process. It essentially teaches your app to treat icons like standard text characters, which allows it to bypass React’s component tree and layout engine entirely. ➡️ 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱-𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: It handles the entire pipeline—watching your icon folder, converting SVGs to .ttf files, and linking them to your native project automatically. ➡️ 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲: Because icons render as native text glyphs, it is significantly faster than traditional SVG rendering, making it the ideal choice for long, scrollable lists or icon-heavy dashboards. ➡️ 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗼 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗴 𝗣𝗹𝘂𝗴𝗶𝗻: It features first-class support for Expo, automating the native plumbing like Info.plist updates and asset linking during the prebuild phase. ➡️ 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗧𝘆𝗽𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆: The library generates TypeScript definitions for your icon set, providing full IDE autocomplete and ensuring you never break the UI with a misspelled icon name. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀? In high-performance applications, small overheads add up. By shifting the heavy lifting from the mobile device to your build machine, 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝘁-𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲-𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗼-𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀 ensures your UI stays buttery smooth while keeping your developer workflow modern. It’s another great example of how 𝗦𝗼𝗳𝘁𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 continues to solve the "last mile" of performance friction in the ecosystem. Before you migrate your entire library, keep in mind: this is designed for the 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 (Fabric) and requires React Native 0.74 or higher. #ReactNative #Expo #SoftwareMansion #Icons #MobileDev #Performance #DeveloperExperience #OpenSource #JavaScript #TypeScript #SVG #Fabric

Litecoin whales are stacking while everyone argues about LitVM The number of wallets holding 10,000+ litecoin:native just hit 648, up 7% in five months. Per Santiment Intelligence, the whales kept accumulating straight through uninspiring price action, while transaction volume sits at yearly lows. What drives the attention is LitVM, Litecoin's first official smart contract layer, backed by the Litecoin Foundation (Litecoin Foundation ⚡️) and running on a testnet since April. The community is split on whether DeFi on Litecoin creates real demand, while testnet farmers chase a token that hasn't even been confirmed.

Turn your imagination into motion on Grok. How? Prompt: A mysterious beautiful woman sits calmly on a throne made of stars floating in deep space. Galaxies slowly swirl around her like a crown and her dress is made of nebula fabric that gently moves like cosmic smoke. Soft glowing cosmic rim light illuminates her face and detailed realistic skin texture is visible. After a moment she slowly rises from the throne and begins a graceful slow ballet movement in zero gravity. As she stands, the star throne dissolves into thousands of glowing particles and orbiting lights. She performs a soft elegant spin and extends her arms, and her motion causes surrounding galaxies and stardust to follow her movement as if she controls gravity. Her hair flows naturally in weightlessness. No fast dancing — slow, serene ballet, quiet power. The background is deep black space with colorful nebulae and distant suns. Cinematic camera with a slow floating push-in at the beginning, then a gentle orbit around her during the ballet spin, shallow depth of field, smooth motion, no shaking. Scene timing: 0-3 seconds she sits on the star throne with galaxies slowly moving, 3-6 seconds she stands and the throne dissolves into particles, 6-10 seconds she performs a slow ballet spin in zero gravity while galaxies react to her motion. Her movements subtly bend space around her as gravity responds to her presence. Realistic physics, volumetric particles, detailed fabric simulation, no distortion, no extra limbs, no flickering. 4K cinematic quality, 24fps film look, slow motion, calm graceful movement like underwater.
