This is an object detector model running in React Native VisionCamera. I am looping through all the output data and drawing red boxes using simple JavaScript - even the model can be hotswapped! All of this while still running at more than 60 FPS 🤯 - no more native code!!

Finally got to build this. Create animations that use Core Animation on iOS and Animator on Android with zero JS overhead. Same animation. But one keeps running smoothly even when the UI thread is lagging. Introducing react-native-ease 🍃

Introducing React Native Streamdown – our new streaming-ready Markdown library 🚀 We’ve built it on top of RN Enriched Markdown, remend, and Worklets Bundle Mode to fix the "streaming jank" in AI apps. 🔹 Zero UI lag – background processing via Worklets. JS thread stays 100% free 🔹 Smart streaming – powered by remend to correctly close tokens (bold, links, code) mid-stream 🔹 Lightning-fast md4c parsing with 100% native text & interactions

Last night, I said if Electron can beat Tauri this badly, native should be disgusting. Well... the results for the GPUI version of @Cap are in😲 GPUI vs Tauri: 77% lower CPU. 88% less memory. GPUI vs Electron: 67% lower CPU. 57% less memory. Yes. Native is disgusting.

We showed react-native-bottom-sheet at App.js, and it's ready to use today, built with support from Gobi. The sheet host, gestures, snapping and scrolling all run in native code, so drags stay smooth even when the JS thread is busy. Let's do a deep dive 🧵

It’s really satisfying when you can offer a native experience in React Native and encapsulate it for reuse. React Native is Native.
