Looking great, had to look a bit for the link to the demo in the video 👉

Sweet!

So clean !

this is quite exciting

I migrated to WebGPU and I miss you now.

The pmndrs leviathan is slowly becoming WebGPU native...

Yes, it’s good so far. I am on Alpha 4 of Three Fiber, no major issues, could also retain some Drei goodies. 👍 It’s mainly react-postprocessing that I had to replace with something worse. (native TSL nodes, not React-like)

That's good to hear, @DennisSmolek has been hard at work on this one. The best way to declare a render pipeline is something we are still debating on Discord.

What about a performance comparison benchmark? Bloom would tank my builds with low settings.

The 'React rerenders much faster' piece surprised me. Postprocessing is so GPU-bound I'd have expected reconciliation overhead to be noise. Was that actually showing up in profiles before the rewrite?

This is why the problem was never elevated in the past, usually the effect components are not rerendering often. But it was an old architectural weakness @kvvasuu finally addressed.

A full rewrite for rerender performance is a big change. Did the biggest gains come from effect lifecycle or prop reconciliation?

most people get hung up on the tech, but what's actually changing here is how we think about reactivity in apps. a faster react doesn't just mean better perf, it means you can build more complex things without breaking a sweat

Amazing as always
