✨Introducing YesCheff is a web app that helps you learn, cook, and enjoy your favorite recipes through step-by-step cooking guides built from real YouTube content. You can even use your own YouTube links. A small but special project where I brought all my capabilities together, from design (brand & product) to animation, and development. This project came from exploring how Al models parse data into frontend components and the development of generative interfaces. I designed and developed the structure through React components (HTML, CSS, JS) for the frontend and Node.js for the backend. This is a testament of how one could develop digital products in a less frustrating and more flexible way with the use of Al, particularly when it comes to getting the styling and functionality right. I finally landed on a memory-optimal way to render audio waveforms in the browser. The full audio is decoded once, then chunked into 2s bins. Each bin stores peaks at 800 peaks/sec in a Uint8Array. Bins are persisted individually in IndexedDB, which keeps the data as raw Uint8 arrays and is faster to read than OPFS. Local or session storage wouldn’t work here. A 2h video ends up as ~5.76 MB cached on disk. While scrolling or zooming the timeline, I load only the visible bins and downsample them to the required resolution. Everything runs async and I never keep more than a single bin in memory at once, ~800 bytes. Rendering supports mixed resolutions in the same pass since bins arrive async. By caching a read index and sorting bins ascending, each peak lookup stays O(1). On refresh, I wipe the IndexedDB so cache size never gets out of hand.

A large Gas Turbine is one of the most complex machines ever built. A 500+ MW class industrial gas turbine can generate enough electricity to power roughly 300,000 to 500,000 homes, while consuming around 700 to 850 cubic metres of natural gas every minute at full load running 24/7 for 5-6 months on end before a shutdown for hot section maintenance. Inside, a multi tonne rotor spins at around 3,000 RPM for 50 Hz grids or 3,600 RPM for 60 Hz grids. At these speeds, a few grams of imbalance can create enormous centrifugal forces, damaging bearings, shafts, and turbine components worth tens of millions of dollars. During such rebalancing, engineers use high precision balancing machines to detect and correct tiny mass differences, often removing or adding material in gram-level corrections to bring vibration within strict industrial limits to attain peak efficiency. The turbine itself can cost $50 million to $200 million+, built from nickel based superalloys, advanced coatings, and precision components designed to survive temperatures exceeding 1,400°C. The hot section is built to last 30,000-50,000 operating hours.
