Imagine a world where workers own the means of production, resources are used for the benefit of all, and decisions are made to meet the basic needs of the people rather than the endless greed of billionaires. That is socialism, and there is nothing scary about it. What is scary is continuing to allow a handful of billionaires and two capitalist parties to control our entire economy and make life-or-death decisions for all of humanity. Now is not the time to celebrate a “freedom” that we never had. Now is the time to fight for our freedom from the dictatorship of capital.

Socialism may sound appealing to some people today but history shows it has failed in many countries. Just look at Venezuela, Cuba, the Soviet Union and others. Those countries faced economic decline, shortages, and a loss of freedom. We shouldn’t repeat those mistakes. Many young people are struggling with high housing costs, student debt and uncertainty about their future. Those are real problems and we shouldn’t ignore them. But history shows that socialism doesn’t solve those problems. It often leads to less freedom, less innovation, and fewer opportunities. Instead of abandoning the system that has created so much opportunity, we should fix what’s broken while protecting the freedoms that have made America a country that millions of people still dream of coming to.

It tells you that millions of Americans are doing exactly what Martin Luther King Jr. called for, judging people not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. That’s not theory, that’s reality. But instead of celebrating that progress, some want to drag us backwards, into a system where race is everything, where success is assigned, where outcomes are engineered. That’s not empowerment, that’s limitation. The idea that someone can only succeed if a district is drawn for them, or if a box is checked for them, is an insult to the very people it claims to help. Here’s a better idea, be a great candidate. Work hard. Earn trust. Serve people. Put your name on the ballot and let voters decide.

A capital city is one thing that either brings pride or shame to a people. This is in the heart of Harare, and it shows the economic degradation of our country. I do not know how my fellow Zimbabweans feel watching sadza being cooked in the middle of the capital city like this, at a place where real and structured economic life used to be vibrant and thriving. This is what one of the once beautiful and industrialised African capital cities has been reduced to. And this is happening barely a kilometre from the president’s office and less than 500 metres from the mayor’s office. A capital city should reflect order, productivity, and dignity. Instead, what we are witnessing is the visible collapse of urban management and the slow decay of a city that once stood as a symbol of possibility all because of failed economic policies. This should bring shame to every right thinking Zimbabwean, regardless of political persuasion. This man, and many like him, are victims of a failed system. A society that cannot create opportunities for its people pushes them into this kind of undignified survival mode. What we are witnessing in this video is not individual failure, but the real human cost of economic collapse and broken governance.

It has ceased to function. There are consequences to this. We are now facing a time of serious economic crisis, and in such times, you need these systems to function. The US military has carried out strikes against Iran for 9 consecutive days as the US war against Iran extends into its 5th month. This was never going to be a “short excursion.” US wars never are. That was just the lie Trump used to push this war. Since we are now in another all-out war in the Middle East, let me break down why the US military-industrial complex is so evil and how it props up our capitalist economic system. The US intentionally keeps its own people poor so they are forced to enlist in the army to bomb innocent people abroad, all to defend a capitalist system that makes the rich even richer by looting other countries’ resources. When you defend US capitalism, you are defending a system that deprives your own people healthcare and housing so they will murder people abroad and die in endless wars to ensure US corporations can plunder and extract other countries’ resources. Listen to this segment of the New Statesman Podcast (Sep 26, 2025). While attempting to couch their language in such a way as to imply the right is wrong about everything, they fully admit that Liz Truss was completely snaked by the Bank of England and this raises a constitutional crisis in our country: Should it be the elected government who dictates economic policy or should it be the unelected Bank of England? This is a serious and weighty question to which there is actually an obvious answer, and they admit that the cruelty by which Truss was dealt with by the left was wholly inappropriate because Starmer's government is facing the exact same problem. It's quite a shocking listen because it reveals the sheer partisanship of the them-vs-us attitude of the liberal elites and their worship of the system as opposed to any normal Brit who actually thinks the country ought to work for the people first. If the system is not serving us then the system must change, but instead they admit the system decided it would take action against the government instead to protect itself. This is completely unacceptable, and they admit it.
