Haven't played much Slowking myself, so I am curious about why you used Cipher instead of Lillie's the turn before? It seems unnecessarily greedy when it gets giga punished by a Hammer heads or even a Judge, and Lillie's -> Kang = infinite development

if i was actually really serious about winning this game i would have lillie’s first, i knew that was a safer bet than cipher, but i also knew cipher would at least guarantee me the kyurem play, still give me a chance at winning the game, and make a funny video lmao

it’s very situational! in this case, given both of our board states and my hand, budew wasn’t scaring me at all. i’d much rather take away their draw power and ability to get set back up ✌️

@oceanicglooom Itchy pollen lets the Pult player have a likely out back into the game unless their hand is just dead?? They re-establish loak + energy along with pollen, you Lillie but won’t have a way to get the king out of the active so they will always have one more following turn to wipe

Leaving the budew alive just limits your options for next turn, stretcher, pokepad, secret box, switch, all cards that would aid you off the lillie are guaranteed dead, less of a fear of you dying next turn, more of a fear of you not closing out the game.

I have PTSD from killing Budew too early vs Pult. Its made the match up so unplayable for me from a mental standpoint

nah i strongly disagree. if i leave the dreepy alive, that potentially leaves 1-2 more drakloaks on the board for the next turn and more draw power/opportunity for them to get their board built back up. im at no risk of getting KO’d this turn, and i have lillie’s in hand—even if i get red carded or stamped, my hand right now is dead in terms of items anyway, and the odds of me drawing into what i need to attack again are pretty high (energy + attacker + cipher or stadium) also the draws weren’t luck 🙃

You can disagree but it’s still a misplay. You get guaranteed item locked next turn now. Who cares if they setup an extra cloak? You prevent item lock and just kyurem again next turn for win. These are the plays that make a difference in higher-tier players.

some of yall are WAAAY too scared of budew. there are many ways to get KO next turn under item lock (which i did lmao). killing a dreepy is just an infinitely better choice in this particular scenario

@AbyssCody What did you line up as the second card with cipher to draw next turn? In this instance I would probably have put an out to switch at top and then switched to latias before using the Lillie’s to establish the bench.

Don’t you think they having 3 cards in hand is less likely to them to make another budew ? i just think not killing the budew is not good, ko the 2 kloaks and budew, lillie next turn and you are item lock free, it only be a good choice if they have only 3 dreepy/kloaks

Why didn’t you set up moltres? Dreepy, dreepy, set up moltres would’ve given you a much cleaner path to koing moltres
