Really dug Shadow Strays. Timo’s doing some real fun stuff with the camera, features maybe the most head trauma ever put to film but most importantly, Aurora Ribero is just an astonishing addition to the action canon. Put Timo on the biggest screens

I’ve written at length about what draws me to Timo’s action but to put it simply, the bleak urgency of it all is so fascinating and beautiful. I don’t think anyone’s ever made bodies exploding and tearing to pieces into such an art. But it’s the solemnity of it all that gets me.

A human body pushed to its limits never feels like a celebration the way it does in other action films. He treats it as an awe inspiring but heartbreaking inevitability. What needs to be done, triumph is irrelevant.
