I watched the Briahna Joy Gray interview, and I would NOT have fired her—not on principle, and definitely not on behalf of a concern for Israeli PR. We are more richly informed for having seen that interview—and not just in the way Gray hoped. Yes, Gray was cold-hearted and even disrespectful. And, if we're honest, we have to admit that the guest, Yarden, was trying to redirect Gray's legitimate political questions with attempts to personalize and pull on "woman-to-woman" strings. This frustrated Gray, and (again, if I'm honest) I understand her frustration. (We don't know what ground rules there were for the interview, if any.) Being intellectually honest with her guests is not Gray's thing. E.g, she cynically recasts Yarden's reference to eliminating Hamas as "eliminating all" Palestinians. She conflates the hostages with imprisoned terrorists. Whatever. We see this type of "journalism" on every subject under the sun. Either we believe in both-side exchanges, or we don't. NOTE: The anti-Zionist side is not upset or embarrassed by Gray. They are not disassociating themselves. She is not a caricature. She is a highly respected top-level champion of the cause. Fine. They get to choose their advocates. And if this reflects their feeling, why the urge to censor them? Show her every night until they relieve her of duty. Fire her if she's misrepresentative of her cause, but not for being a perfect and honest representative of it.
