Nick Saban thinks Matt Campbell can have success at Penn State, but not if the Nittany Lions keep their ‘championship or bust’ mentality: “These places that have, to me, a little bit of unrealistic expectations that we’re going to win the national championship. Only one team wins the national championship, and there’s a lot of competition out there…I mean, there’s all types of factors that go into whether you can finish the season the way you want. So, to make that sort of the goal, which is an outcome, that ‘We got to win the championship or we’re gonna get rid of the coach,’ to me is totally wrong. And they’ll have a hard time doing it if that’s the approach that they take. “Look, Matt Campbell did a great job at Iowa State because he won more there than most. So that tells you what the potential of the place is and what he was able to accomplish. I’m sure he’ll be able to do the same thing at Penn State.” #WeAre #PennState

NEWS: 2026 6’10” C Kaleb Davis from Houston HS (Memphis, TN) has now heard from these programs since Monday, his agency Sports Network LLC tells me: NC State Villanova Seton Hall Texas A&M UAB UT Arlington In addition to Virginia Tech, Charlotte, La Salle + others 📈 Davis’ 7’3” wingspan + defensive instincts allow for him to be an elite rim protector and make an immediate defensive impact next season (2nd in 3SSB in BLKs). Still raw on the offensive end (impact limited to mainly PNRs), but as an incoming freshman, he has time to make strides in that aspect of his game. Would be a great developmental big for any HM+ programs looking for depth and will make an immediate impact next season for any MMs/LMs still looking for bigs. He will be playing with Team Thad Nation 17Us this weekend in Memphis. Attached is his schedule.

Freshman 6’3 PG Kayden Mingo had a strong debut for Penn State. 18 Points 3 Rebounds 4 Assists 6/10 FG Despite only being a freshman Mingo looked comfortable against a strong defensive Dayton team getting to his spots and creating for himself and his teammates at a high level. He’s someone that has the potential to be one of the best freshmen in the country this season.

Today, Terry Smith reflected on the last two months as he prepares for his final game as Penn State's interim coach: "For me personally, this has been the greatest seven weeks of my coaching career. The opportunity to represent my alma mater and sit at the very top of it to try to salvage a season that didn't start off the way we wanted; it was a tremendous opportunity for me. "...I can't be thankful enough of our guys, our leadership, in the locker room. They allowed me to lead them. It turned out to be a better ending than what the season started out." #WeAre #PennState

🇺🇸🇮🇷 Tim Dillon broke down the Iran exit better than any analyst on TV. His take: boots on the ground means years of bloody stalemate that bankrupts America, and a nuke ends it. Either one finishes the country. So Trump took the off-ramp: "I believe in a cowardly exit." The catch? The neocons and Netanyahu's camp wanted Iran decimated no matter the cost. Source: Tim Dillon / Writer: Daniel

don’t let Bo Nickle’s recent performance against RDR, who seems to be much better than some of us thought, convince you Gable Steveson couldn’t put his ELITE grappling to work in the historically weak heavyweight division. Gable had a meeting with Hunter Campbell and his goals are set on the UFC. He’s already trained with Jones in ABQ and with Daniel Cormier extensively and can walk into any elite gym in the world and be welcomed. I’m excited to see what he can do in MMA. 💯 OverDogs Podcast

Indiana HC Curt Cignetti - Rebuilding Indiana "Production over potential. There's something about that. The guy that can stay on the practice field, the guy that can stay on the game field, the guy can handle success, the guy that can handle failure, has consistency in performance, he's a good teammate, he buys in to the team vision & he can stay healthy." "It's all about people. The people you hire and the people you recruit. You've got to hire and recruit the right kind of people. That have a foundation of habits, that understand right from wrong, that have passion, that love football, that want to be great, that want to learn and get better every single day. You got to have those kind of people in your organization & then create the environment where they can thrive."
