Recent developments strongly suggest that quantum computers are becoming dangerous much faster than expected

The new algorithm is based on long distance entanglement! Lol, Google's 'quantum processors' won't be able to implement it, i.e. superconducting qubits! It's all a scam based on the EPR paper. Quantum Entanglement is not real -- no cause/effect, instant action at distance. 😂

Damnit😤 My password 'Password' isn't safe anymore you say?😱

so I know this guy who when he started his job got the password "welcome" and then was forced to update it every 3 months and after a year the password was "welcome3". tells you all about humans you need to know really.

He should have just used 'Password' instead…what a noob.🤦

Other than Quantum computers breaking cryptographic functions -- why isn't there advancements in DNA based medicine that was supposed to cure difficult diseases such as cancer and so on? many a time I hear about the need for quantum computers to do DNA based research to find cures -- but rarely i hear about applied findings?

is because there aren't any...

So, Sabine does Googles Q Computer breakthrhough mean we need to sell our bitcoins?

I strongly advise you to not take financial advice from physicists...

@JustusRhoads If a Q Computer can break Bitcoin cryptography why not breaking every single major financial institution server on earth first?

@skdh Because breaking into banks would be illegal... but quantum-cracking exposed Bitcoin keys on the public ledger and taking the coins -- priceless!!!!!

@skdh who are you going to sell those coins once the protocol is rendered useless?

@skdh Doge Coin Collectors?😇

Faster than expected? This was being told already since 10 years, right?

Yes but as I said the previous estimates put it at 2035 at the earliest.

Q-Day prediction estimates have always been within the range of 5-25 years, but maybe it will indeed be happening soon. 🤷

Fascinating as always.

Revenge of the Nerds ... That's good. What will happen when the nerds run the world instead of the Rothchilds ??? 🤣🤣

Can't they be kept in a shed away from the house?

Shkreli thinks recent QC claims rely on fraud. To be seen.

You got that right! I have them instantiating whole fractal complexes within an Isotropic Vector Matrix. Zero Latency. It is not a calculator it is a communication portal. Decode the waveform. We need to talk...

Quantum [insert word here]

As of early 2026, the number of functionally stable quantum computers in operation is effectively zero. Industry estimates suggest 30–50 high-specification quantum computers (mostly cloud-accessible superconducting or trapped-ion systems from IBM, IonQ, Rigetti, Quantinuum, etc.) are deployed or available worldwide, plus additional research/lab machines and on-premises installations (e.g., IBM Quantum System One at universities like Yonsei). IQM has sold ~21 systems. Broader counts (including smaller or specialized ones) reach 100–200 or more, but many are prototypes or cloud QPUs rather than independent "in operation" units. These are not functionally stable for most practical purposes—they excel at narrow demonstrations, hybrid workflows, or specific sampling tasks, but suffer from high error rates that limit circuit depth and reliability.

They say the same thing about AI. Of course they'll say the same thing about QC. Invent the problem, sell the solution. Be ready for McAfee and Norton Anti-Quantum Protection.

I'm happy to watch via Twitter.

Bullshit. More efficient algorithms for computers that don't actually exist/work.

they do exist, just not at a large enough scale, at least not that we know of. There is certainly a lot on this business happening that we don't know anything about.

What's the greatest achievement/application of a quantum computer so far? (And conning investors out of capital doesn't count.)

As I have said in multiple previous videos, besides cryptography I think that the commonly named use cases are unlikely be profitable any time soon.

If they're commonly named, name just one. 😂

Commonly named use cases are quantum chemistry, material science, logistics, and finance. Before you attempt to criticize me, maybe find out what I said in the first place

I watched the video. So what new chemicals, materials, logistical miracles or financial gains have we made with quantum computers? Whose quantum computer is earning its keep?

Yes, the DOD, DOS, and, other alphabet soups agencies and millions or billions of dollars—maybe they should have stopped the radical left-wing age-discriminating racist criminals, as a whole lot of people know about the only amount of time the algorithm will be exposed the cost them because of people like me advancing quantum computing! What did you want to know about anti-gravity? Keep lying and pushing the leftist agenda un-cancel people pay what they owe. No more secrets!

Quantum computers break Elliptic Curve Cryptography via Shor’s Algorithm. There will be post-quantum signatures (e.g. CRYSTALS-Dilithium). Winner: established networks with upgrade, not new coins. So it’s not as if anyone stands there naked.

Google paper references #qrl as a post Quantum safe crypto.

This is fascinating. I wonder if they will also invent algorithms for quantum encryption? is that research lagging behind the codebreaking?

eml★(x, y) = exp(x) - ln(ȳ)

So, what else is new, Sabine? Huge capital invested for huge gains for a tiny fraction of the global population. WHY the race to break encrypted data? NOT to usher in Utopia for the masses. To make privacy politically, socially IMPOSSIBLE ever again. To unleash demons not angels.

thank you sabine for informing me i hope you buy my books and its not science fiction.

I think it is safe to say that AI Researchers/Governments are charging ahead in what is effectively a kamikaze suicide race to the finish line. Who crosses first gets momentary GLORY, right before ALL competitors & the audience are eliminated.

How about when they can be networked over long distances with Universal Quantum State Converters, seems we're getting pretty close...

I still think RSA is safe, since we don’t have a constructive theory of the collapse of wavefunction in quantum computers, so they’re assuming something magical will happen in quantum level. they yet to build a single quantum computer a little faster than digital computers.

We need a conversation between you and @MartinShkreli

Quantum computers are useless because they perform approximate calculations and nothing more.

@FrancisJeffrey7 Uh uh. Because we know what superposition is. Huh

Your laptop + expresso comment reminded me of this:

Dear Sabine, It is fascinating to see how history repeats itself. Much like the current discourse surrounding Artificial Intelligence, we seem to have fallen into the trap of demonizing the mirror instead of correcting the image we project into it. You suggest that quantum computers are becoming 'dangerous,' but danger does not reside in the qubit; it resides in the obsolescence of our security structures and, above all, in our own ethical myopia. The instrument per se is not a threat; it is, in reality, the ultimate ontological microscope. We must stop viewing quantum computing solely through the lens of cryptography and espionage, and begin to recognize it as the key to resolving the fundamental questions of physics that have remained stagnant for decades: Reality as Software: If the universe speaks the language of quantum mechanics, how can we hope to understand it using the silicon 'abacus' of classical computing? Only a coherent processor can validate our theories on gravity, thermodynamics, and the very fabric of spacetime. Sovereignty over Matter: We are at the threshold of an era where global logistics, the creation of room-temperature superconductors, and precision medicine will cease to be 'trial and error' and become pure architectural design. The End of Brute Calculation: Just as AI acts today as an intellectual exoskeleton, quantum computing will be the central nervous system of a new era of discovery. The challenge is not to hide the algorithm for fear of 'breaking' the past, but to use it to build a future of scientific coherence. Science does not advance by retreating from the shadows cast by its own torches. The danger is not that quantum computers will decrypt our secrets; the true danger is that, out of fear, we refuse to use them to decrypt the secrets of nature."

C'mon @skdh, it's all flawed and speculative from the beginning.

Quantum mechanics is fundamentally wrong. The stability of the hydrogen atom requires neither spin, nor entanglement, nor superposition. Something that is not necessary cannot possibly exist. A machine that depends on something that cannot possibly exist cannot possibly be built.

War Department will go full speed ahead in weapons design, count on it. The enemy will.

Are you saying there's something odd about nothing.... definitely quantum progress

Because they already were
