@DeanTTraining I'm not sure what 1-RM gets an athlete whose primary sport is not lifting. It is easy to do 3 rep, 5 rep max & get close enough estimate we can see strength is progressing....I would be nervous at my advanced age to do "full on" 1 RM.

@DeanTTraining At my age i wouldn't dream of trying a max squat or dead. ZERO reason to do it. No upside, only potential downside. I set out earlier, the pros and cons for younger competitive athletes.

@DeanTTraining @TT_Sunshine_ You can literally see his hamstring pop 💀

@DeanTTraining Still do 1 rep maxes. Warming up is key.

@DeanTTraining Competive atheletes are going to compete. Pretty much sums it up for me.

@DeanTTraining Dan John has the concept of multiple maxes. From your max today, to one you work up to, to one you do as a lifetime best and everything you worked for is at stake. Sorta max, max, max max and Max max max!

@DeanTTraining Nightmare fuel.

@DeanTTraining That’s gonna leave a mark …

@DeanTTraining Ok, after listening to Pavel Tsatsouline last night, I'll never try 1RM.. It's not worth the risk.

@DeanTTraining he's a comic book character... the strength for strength sake while defecating hundreds of grams of protein daily

@DeanTTraining Who? The debate about 1-rep maxes is independent of that.
