Goidhoo Atoll, a natural atoll administratively part of Baa Atoll. The French navigator Pyrard de Laval’s ship, Corbin, was wrecked near Innafushi — the only uninhabited island in the atoll. Pyrard provided a detailed historical account of the Maldives. This woman is mistaken. Vilimale’ does not belong to its current residents. People move from place to place all the time. Vilimale’ belongs to all Maldivians. The majority of Maldivians are against cutting down trees, destroying coral reefs and similar for the sake of development. That is a very selfish thing to do. Our generation is able to enjoy the natural beauty of Maldives cause decades ago, our parents and grandparents took care of the land and caused no harm, even as hundreds of resorts and related services were developed. Otherwise, we would not be able to enjoy this today. Sadly, in the last 15 years this has been changing little by little, all in the name of development. We want to deliver the same beautiful Maldives we inherited to our unborn children too.
