Recently, we announced that AVALON will be launching on Base and promised that more details would be shared soon. That time has arrived, and we'd like to share why we chose Base as our partner!

Why Base? First, We believe that Ethereum will continue to shape the industry as the most widely adopted L1. AVALON is inspired by the vision for the future of a decentralized internet by Vitalik and the Ethereum team. Many of their papers helped shape and revolutionize the industry, from early visions of smart contracts and DAOs, to layer 2 solutions, and building a better user-governed internet.

A decade later, they have continued to stay true to their mission and continue to address critical issues with security, decentralization and scalability in their roadmap, including: ⬩Transitioning from PoW to PoS, reducing energy consumption while increasing scalability and security. ⬩Developing the Beacon and Shard chains, enabling faster and more efficient transactions onchain. ⬩The recent advancement of proto-danksharding to improve scalability. ⬩Delivering, consistently, on its roadmap and promises to deliver another 100-1000X scaling whilst remaining decentralized, secure, and democratic. ⬩See a full list of Ethereum advancements here : Additionally, its recent approval as an ETF further uniquely demonstrates its authenticity as a network in the eyes of regulators.

Second, We believe that Base will grow to become the most widely adopted L2. ⬩Intense user experience focus and incredibly simple user-onboarding by the Base team will enable rapid adoption of web2 users into web3 with features such as one click user onboarding and a gasless wallet infrastructure. ⬩Optimistic rollups are currently the least expensive and most efficient L2 solution. ⬩Base L3 is one of the very few networks capable of meeting the scalability requirements for a massively multiplayer game. ⬩Base’s initiative to build simple interoperability between L2s will allow other chains to interoperate into AVALON.

Ultimately, the @base team shares our vision of a decentralized and democratized internet. We believe that the Base team can and will execute on this unique vision in an authentic way, and we want to help shape that future in our virtual worlds.
