It’s been five days since we lost the great Glen Hansard, and it’s been both an absolute joy and a source of great sorrow to watch all the videos, all the tributes, and read all the stories about this great man’s life. From presidents and Prime Ministers to global superstars to the people who run the homeless shelters in Dublin that he supported, the tributes have flowed, reminding us of his brilliance and what we’ve lost. But incredibly, even in passing, he is still creating community, as people are coming together to share in their love of a man they never met. I’ve had messages from people all over the world, including as far away as South Korea! While sifting through all the footage, I came across this great video posted by Seattle Theatre Group when Glen closed down Virginia St in Seattle after his show in 2012. I’m standing right in the middle of the crowd behind Glen and end up getting blocked from view by Glen’s drummer, who was enthusiastically playing the tambourine. This is one of the craziest musical experiences I've ever had. Glen had led his band off the stage, through the foyer, and out across the street, into a restaurant, and then back out onto the street to continue to play for his audience. I read somewhere that someone said Glen didn’t have a following, but he had a flock, and I think this so beautifully articulates the passion we all had for everything he brought into the world, which is far more than just his brilliant music. #glenhansard #glenhansardrip #music #seattle

I can’t believe it but CNN did a deep investigation into the latest Donald Trump assassination attempt, even recovering deleted Bluesky posts from Cole Allen, and is proving he is a Far-Left Democrat CNN uncovered: - In May, he was retweeting posts comparing Trump to Hitler on X - After the Butler, PA and Florida assassination attempts against Trump “he was resharing posts, baselessly, speculating that they were staged” - Archived posts are filled with reposts attacking Trump questioning the 2024 election results and expressing anger at the direction of the country - Then days after the election, he quit X, leaving for bluer skies (Bluesky) He wrote, I don't think there's much reason to be on here anymore (on X) - He moved to BlueSky under the handle Cold Force - On BlueSky, “his rhetoric escalated. His posts on Blue Sky were deleted, but we were able to review archive data and retrieve his posts” - in a post archived in December, 2025, he wrote, ‘best Time to Buy a gun was days ago. Second best time is today.’ According to federal law enforcement investigators, he'd already legally bought a handgun and shotgun at that point - Last month, he wrote, ‘Put a traitor back in office, get treason’ “Roughly 6 weeks later, he boarded a train from Los Angeles to Washington and allegedly opened fire outside the White House Correspondents dinner before he was apprehended. He was later charged by federal prosecutors with attempting to assassinate the president and remains in jail” CNN probing beyond any doubt he was a Democrat and there is no other conspiracy

Sunil didn’t commit suicide. It was a pre-planned murder by toxic professors. A final-year MBBS student, Sunil Bairwa, was found hanging in his hostel room at Kota Medical College, Rajasthan, on March 6, 2025. His death is not just another case of student suicide. It is a direct result of systematic harassment by the college administration that broke him mentally. Sunil’s father revealed the relentless struggles his son faced. After clearing NEET, Sunil joined Kota Medical College in 2019-20. In his first exam, the college administration failed him, forcing his family to file a case. When the results were re-evaluated 7-8 months later, he was declared passed. In his third year, he was caught cheating, leading to the cancellation of two exams. Since then, he had been out of college for 1.5 years. Recently, when he tried to discuss his academic issues, the administration harassed him again. Soon after, he was found dead. A suicide note was recovered, where Sunil apologized to his parents for not meeting their expectations. But let’s be clear, he wasn’t weak. He wasn’t a failure. He was systematically broken down by an institution that should have supported him. Toxic professors and a ruthless system killed him. Why are medical colleges still run like mental torture chambers? Why is failing a student seen as a power move instead of a failure of the teaching system? Why are professors more interested in punishing students than in helping them learn? How many more students have to die before we start holding these toxic educators accountable?

Long Post: Happy Birthday Cameron Green The world almost never saw Cameron Green. But here he is, standing tall at 198 cm, both literally and in spirit... Before he could even take his first steps, life had already thrown him into a fight. Diagnosed with stage-two chronic kidney disease before birth, doctors once told his parents he might not live beyond the age of 12. Weekly hospital visits, constant ultrasounds, and strict dietary routines were as much a part of his childhood as his love for the game... While most players focus on tackling the opposition, Green often had to battle his own body; pushing through frequent cramps caused by his chronic kidney condition while still standing tall at the crease... And yet, the boy who was expected to remain small grew into a giant. Not just in height, but in heart, hunger, and humility... He never asked for special treatment. In fact, most around him didn’t even know about his condition. Not even Justin Langer, who had known him since he was 15. Green just kept showing up. Quietly, consistently, determinedly... From becoming the youngest player to take a five-wicket haul in the Sheffield Shield to rebuilding himself into a reliable middle-order batter after injuries, Cameron Green’s journey is one of resilience and evolution... Since 2021, while batting in the middle order, he has scored 1143 Test runs at average of 39.4. That average climbs to an impressive 46 in outside home Tests. Many seasoned specialist batters have struggled to maintain even a 35 average during this same period... His bowling average of 34 during this period might not grab headlines at first glance, but it's actually better than that of Mohammad Siraj and Ben Stokes over the same timeframe... He is averaging close to 40 with bat in ODIs as well, and his T20 strike rate is touching 150, which is hard to believe for someone who once stitched a 116-run partnership for the last wicket with Josh Hazlewood on a green top, and went on to produce one of the finest innings of recent times with a masterful 174*. This is the same cricketer who fearlessly counterattacked the spinners of Pakistan and Sri Lanka on his very first away tour, delivering back-to-back crucial innings in Lahore and Galle to help Australia win two consecutive Tests in Asia... With the ball, he returned a bowling average of 15.7 in his first Ashes series, along with an economy of 2.54, which was better than even Cummins, Hazlewood, and Starc in that series... And all this while batting at number 6, then number 4, and now preparing for yet another role in a new position. But as always, Cameron Green will adjust. He will rise. A man whose kidneys may filter less, but whose spirit filters nothing; absorbing every setback, and turning it into fuel... The world hasn't seen the full version of Cameron Green yet. What we've seen is only the trailer; the main feature is still to come. And when it does, cricket may just find itself witnessing a once in a generation phenomenon who was never meant to make it… but chose to write his own script anyway...

Confidence Pro Max: Remembering a Brother, a Filmmaker, and a Warrior Nick’s untimely death is a devastating blow to his family, friends, and Kenya as a whole. We didn’t see it coming, even after he was diagnosed in October 2025 with hypocellular myelodysplastic syndrome (h-MDS), a rare bone marrow disorder. When we went to see him in the hospital, he possessed such positive energy, he was convinced that he would beat this. He was Rambo a "one-man army" and we all believed he could beat it, too. He never looked defeated, or depressed, even as he began to lose weight. When he shaved his head in November, he sent me a photo and asked me to call him "Michael Jordan," after the Chicago Bulls legend whose signature look was a bald head. Even in sickness, he found a reason to smile. I met Nick in 2015, before he became a filmmaker. I remember him sitting in my office wearing a suit, asking for my support to go study filmmaking in Italy. After completing his course in Italy, his first major project upon his return was the award-winning documentary Softie, directed by Sam Soko. The film followed my journey as I ran for political office during the 2017 elections, and Nick was the one behind the drone shots. We became friends, and I enjoyed a front-row seat watching as he went on to document important stories. One of my favourites was his powerful 2021 BBC Africa Eye documentary, "Street Dreams." He directed and filmed a group of seven homeless young men in Nairobi who formed the "Street Family Dance Crew." He embedded with them to capture their raw determination to escape poverty, police harassment, and family issues during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is a story that feels like a distant world today; those dancers used to perform outside nightclubs in the CBD, but the city has since become a ghost town. Many bars closed down and replaced by restaurants that shut their doors by 9:00 PM. It’s a story that captured a time in Nairobi that is long gone. In 2024, Nick and I united as he covered the protests. While I participated in the demonstrations, he worked on an unnamed film and we often discussed safety tips. I was a storyteller before I was an activist, so I knew a thing or two about staying safe in the streets while documenting potentially dangerous stories. When Nick was falsely arrested in May 2025, for allegedly producing the BBC documentary, Blood Parliament - two of the three people arrested with him were working with me. I received a call shortly after their arrest and faced the difficult task of calling my colleagues' parents to deliver the news. The arrest was hostile; they were forced to hand over their phones and passwords, and when their equipment was finally returned, it was infected with spyware. What remains hidden from the public eye after an arrest are the cold cells, the degrading police interrogations, the court arraignments, the stares, and the judgment from both friends and strangers. Sometimes even the loss of clients who don’t want to be associated with “enemies of the state.” On a personal level, the trauma of such an arrest can lead to depression, alcoholism, or insomnia. In Nick’s case, his body crumbled, a hidden disease manifested, and before we could truly understand what it was, it stole him from us. His passing is an indictment of our failed healthcare system. Good healthcare is not free. We do not have enough blood in our blood banks and patients must organize their own donors in both public and private hospitals. Furthermore, specialized medical care is so expensive and out of reach that his family and friends were in the middle of fundraising for a life-saving bone marrow transplant in India. I am glad that he was able to produce his latest work, The People Shall, last year. The documentary is a first-hand eyewitness account of the events of June 25th, 2024, when a new republic was born. In his honour, and in honour of the hundreds of thousands suffering due to poor healthcare in this country, may we take our power back. Nick was good people. He had a positive attitude toward life and brought love and laughter into every room he entered. He could lift heavier weights at the gym than people much older and bigger than him. I had the chance to lift weights with him and his co-accused friends; he was so confident that he was the only one lifting bare-chested. That was 'confidence pro-max,' and he beat us in lifting heavier weights and doing more sets. In September 2025, I woke up early to ensure my son was ready to go drone filming with Nick. My son had recently acquired his drone pilot license, and Nick had taken him under his wing as he worked on a new film - a project he was looking forward to finishing. He surprised us all with his early exit on January 7th, but we thank God we had the chance to spend time with him. As we grieve Nick’s death, may his story inspire you to leave that boring job, find your purpose, and live a life that leaves an impact. I am so grateful for Nick’s life. May God comfort his family and friends and give them strength. He will be dearly missed.
