I used to work in a papermill recycling paper, and I have seen the huge amount of chemicals used for recycling. A chemical to remove the ink, a chemical to remove grease, etc. Most of which being washed down the drain.

Okay I want the tax reduction promised when they first brought the program out.

This is saddening, I remember learning about this new idea to solve the pollution problem in grade 4 1985 RECYCLING!!! as a 9 yr old it was uplifting as this was a solution to a better future, now 40 yrs later it doesn’t work? And people wonder why I have no faith in government

How many people actually reduce and reuse when the world is build around cheap one time use disposable products. There is nothing to reuse because everything is so shit and cheaply made.

We can reuse a single plastic straw for the rest of our life, but instead we throw it out, and turn to paper that barely last until the drink is done. And not too many people will keep a straw handy in their utensil drawer.
