Redbone — “Come and Get Your Love”

Not 1st cowbell (that’d be “Honky Tonk Women”) — but this might be the smoothest it ever sounded!

Loved their indigenous pride creating a hit pop record

one of the all time great songs!! its just perfect.

I think it is scientifically impossible to listen to that song and NOT get moving, grooving or dancing... Unless maybe you're a nut strapped down in a Psycho Ward... But other than that...

Redbone didn't just record a hit; they injected Native American Pride into the heart of 70s pop. Pat Vegas's bass has that earthy pulse that makes the song feel organic, like it has always existed.🤔 Fun fact: The original intro lasted almost two minutes with traditional chants, but the label cut it so it would go straight to the radio.Did you know? 🤯

🎶Come and get your love 🔥🔥🔥

Little know fact: the lead singer of Redbone was Will Sampson, "Chief" from "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest".

Such an ear worm. My daughter and I always sing this song together.

Love love loved this era !! Good times!

I had no idea.

A good classic song i always liked.Being 18 in '74 i was a 'rocker' like many back then. And being 1/8th Seminole,i wanted them to do well.I thought it was a bit humorous the authentic Indian apparel the lead guitar wore, was cool, but the fu-man-chu stash was odd.Still good.

WABC radio in NY played that song every Friday around 5:00 PM and billed it as The Weekend National Anthem.

The commercial darling.

I remember that song

Pure Soul💯🙌 Such a beautiful song👍

One of those songs that u (in general) sang as a kid and had no idea who made it. #memories
