Arbitrators have often ignored the judicial decisions of the host country. While arriving at an arbitration outcome, even findings related to crimes like fraud and corruption which have been established through the court of law in the host country, put the states in a conflicting position to accept the award. An investment treaty must not only provide better regulatory powers to the nations but must also serve as guidance to arbitrators to restore faith in arbitration. I've been speaking consistently on mis-selling. Banks should concentrate on their core business. They should make their money on what they've lent. CASA (Current Account Savings Account) money should be their priority. I am glad that the RBI is coming up with guidance on why mis-selling is not going to be entertained. There couldn’t have been a better time to talk about banking for Viksit Bharat, especially after the grind that all of the PSBs & financial institutions have gone through, recognising difficulties and coming out towards the route of reform. I personally believe that India should embrace stablecoins! India receives over $125B in remittances annually, and stablecoins can reduce costs from 6-7% to just 1-3% saving us billions in fees.
