Referee Josh Smith stopping play here is an extremely classy move. I’m not sure if he’ll get marked down by his assessors for doing it but he absolutely shouldn’t.

@ell_spencex He should be marked UP by his bosses. Didn’t cause any harm to play whatsoever. Conducted the moment perfectly. Common sense rather than playing it to the letter of the law.

Pretty this also happened when we played Cardiff at their place and they wanted to acknowledge a fan who had died. Referees using common sense is a good thing, not a bad thing - shame if they are penalised for it.
