Referees need to go back to issuing warnings/docking points for inactivity

This is one of the rare instances where I disagree with these gentlemen. Inactivity is punished by judges in scorecards. Referees do not determine strategy, nor should they. A boxer may have less activity during rounds for any number of reasons, none of which would be the ref's business. Ref is there to make sure rules are not violated & to protect the safety of the fighters. He is not there to decide how fights should be fought. The Fans can boo the strategy of inactivity, judges can give the round to the other guy, the media can criticize a boxer during and after the fight, & promoters can decide not to use a fighter again because he is too boring. But referees have nothing to do with that.

We explained more indepth on the show and agree with the majority of what you're saying. Just think it cant hurt for referee to issue warnings here and there similiar to other infractions. But should not interject unless it is egregious

Shakur would be disqualified in 4 rounds

The sweet science of running.

We say this in one breath and in the next we say we dont want referees involved in the fight

Who’s we

You're trying to get the brothers killed

@BluntsAndBoxing

In the amateurs as refs we are allowed to caution boxers for being passive (not throwing punches) and even take points off if need be, no reason why this can’t be implemented in the pros too 👍🏻👊🏻🥊
