So sad to see young kids - born & raised in Canada being taught hatred against humanity & other religions. These are not Canadian values nor the teachings of Sikhism. The slogans being chanted at protests against #India Randhir Jaiswal & Narendra Modi as the PM of India are not reflective of the behaviour of Canadians & all Sikhs living in Canada 🇨🇦. Some of the initiatives under PM Modi's leadership of opening up of Kartarpur Corridor, Hemkunt Sahib Ropeway, waiving GST on Langar items, & celebrating 550th Prakash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev Ji have been greatly appreciated by the Sikh community globally. Yes there should be accountability & Yes to free speech but a big NO to inciting violence, hatred & threats against others. Canadian businesses need more partners not enemies & the world needs more peace ☮️ not hate.

NEW: Father walks through 30 miles of debris from Hurricane Helene to get to his daughter's wedding so he could walk her down the aisle. W. David Jones nearly died during his 30-mile trek after state troopers told him the terrain was unnavigable. Jones started driving from South Carolina to Johnson City, Tennessee. When he could not drive any longer, he started walking through the entire night to make it to his daughter's wedding the next morning. At one point, Jones was stuck in the mud to his knees and had to dodge a backhoe that had not seen him literally. At another point, he nearly got hit by a car but waved his reflective stake to avoid being hit. His daughter had no clue what her dad had been through to make it to her wedding. "That's so emotionally moving that my dad loves me so much that he would come and go through all of that just to get to my wedding." Jones made it in time to walk her down the aisle. He gave her the reflective stake as a wedding gift that kept him safe on his trip.

WATCH | Yesterday, I travelled from Zvipani to Karoi and passed through three ZRP roadblocks: Magunje Hospital, Jingrison (I may not have the name correct), and Twin River. At the Jingrison roadblock, I was stopped for almost an hour because I did not have a reflective jacket and a complete breakdown kit. I was told that the fine for these offences was US$30. However, I noticed several motorists paying US$5 and being allowed to continue their journey without being given a receipt. I also paid US$5, after which my car keys were returned to me, and no receipt was issued. I managed to secretly record a video of what was happening because I felt people needed to see what was taking place at the roadblock. It is concerning that there were three roadblocks on such a short route. The number of roadblocks seemed excessive and raises questions about their purpose. Citizens deserve to be treated fairly and served with honesty, professionalism, and integrity. My mere existence is subversive in the place that is am. I also don’t act in a way that women are supposed to act in a society like this.
