Yes, indeed, this is lawlessness by any standard. Even by banana republic standards, this is still lawlessness. Your country has a constitution, it has a government, it has a police service, and it has a ruling party. I am sure you can see that some of the people there are actually wearing ruling party T-shirts. It is lawless regardless of whoever does it. It is an embarrassment to South Africa as a country, what you are doing and what you are encouraging people to do. Your country has an immigration service. If people are in your country illegally, they should be arrested and deported through lawful processes. You do not go around destroying property, tearing down markets, and attacking people. It is illegal regardless of whoever does it. It is not illegal because I have said so. It is illegal because the laws of your country make it so. This is vigilantism, pure and simple, and it is tainting the reputation of South Africa, not only across Africa but across the world. If you have got satellite television in your home, you can see that these actions are being reported everywhere. It is not good for your country. This kind of barbarism undermines the rule of law, fuels division, and damages South Africa’s standing as a constitutional democracy. It is the actions of a few that are tainting the reputation of many. The average South African is not mindless like this. Merry Christmas Eve, dwellers. 🎄🐲 I have a request from a friend that may apply to many people out there, but here are my thoughts… (I apologize for the lengthy response, but this topic is something I also care deeply about) You are doing better than you think. When you feel anxious, it becomes easy to downsize your own efforts. When you look at what you made, you focus only on what could be better. You compare it to an ideal that no one else is holding you to. With that mentality, you forget how much care, time, and effort you already put in. If you keep telling yourself that you are not good at anything, pause for a moment and understand this: that thought isn't true. Anxiety and low self-esteem change how you interpret your own work. Your mind learns to look for flaws and dismiss everything that went right. So even when you make something solid or meaningful, it feels small to you. That does not mean it is small. It means your perception is narrowed by fear and pressure. Perfectionism often hides behind self-criticism. If something is not flawless, your mind labels it as worthless. But that standard is impossible and unfair. Growth does not happen at the finish line. It happens in the unfinished, imperfect attempts you keep doing. The work you are making is not insignificant. It shows growth and someone who is learning while still trying. That matters far more than perfection ever will. You do not need to see your full potential right now. You do not need to prove your worth by being exceptional or reach some invisible standard to justify your effort. You just need to keep doing it and allow your work to exist as it is. Others can see the value even when you cannot. If you cannot see your potential right now, that is okay. You are not broken. You are not lazy. You are not wasting anything. While patients wait years for surgery and months to see a specialist, Wes Streeting and Keir Starmer are threatening to cut the number of NHS specialist doctor training jobs. Most people don’t realise this, but doctors can’t just become Consultants, Surgeons or GPs on their own. They have to get a speciality training job first. These jobs are controlled and capped by the Government. So when the Government talks about cutting speciality training jobs, what they are really talking about is cutting the number of future specialist doctors in this country. At a time when the NHS already doesn’t have enough doctors. At a time when waiting lists are in the millions. At a time when patients are waiting months just to see a specialist and years for operations. Cutting the number of specialist training jobs will not fix the NHS. It will make waiting lists longer. It will make it harder to see a doctor. It will make the NHS worse for patients. Threatening to reduce the number of future doctors while patients are already struggling to access care is not just a deliberate workforce policy decision. SHOULD GOVERNMENT BE ALLOWED TO TAKE PRIVATE PROPERTY? “People are waking up to the fact that the asset seizure tax is an elimination of private property rights, that fundamentally what you're saying [is] that private property now becomes public property. Uniform means that everyone pays the same percentage, the same property tax rate in a county. This asset seizure tax that's being proposed is a demographic tax — meaning that the state or the legislature defines a specific group of individuals (in this case, they're saying anyone with a net worth over a billion dollars) and then they can go and take assets from only that group. That is nonuniform taxation. It means that for the first time we're saying based on the demographics of a person meaning whatever you want to use to define that person (in this case their wealth) — you are going to be treated differently. And that is different than an income tax, because remember when you have graduated income tax rates (and you say high earners get taxed more) — what you're taxing is the earnings, not the individual. You're not looking through to the individual to determine whether or not they're wealthy. All you're doing is looking at the independent earnings amount that's coming in. And so a uniformity clause is supposed to protect people from being demographically discriminated against. And you may roll your hand and be like: ‘Oh, who cares about the billionaires? Eat the rich.
