regarding RS3's chaotic MTX/Treasure Hunter situation

Our surveys are essentially asking players what they think of the alternatives, just not stating the amount of $ we would seek to offset. What difference would knowing the amount make to answers?

I truly believe clarifying how much impact Treasure Hunter has on the stability of BOTH games would set a lot of opinions straight, and provide some additional understanding when voicing opinions about future MTX approaches/endeavors. Every time MTX debates happen, the arguments are heavily rooted in the mysterious revenue of Treasure Hunter - those arguments are all based on speculation and inferences from Jagex's publicly-released revenue breakdowns from 2 years back. Those revenue reports don't reveal what exactly makes up the "MTX" portion, so there's no way to understand how necessary Treasure Hunter is amongst other MTX like bonds/Soloman's/etc. So while stating an exact amount isn't necessary, I think revealing MTX allocation percentages% would help just as much to give players a clear understanding of what's at stake with Treasure Hunter's removal (and eliminates half the ongoing arguments about the importance of Treasure Hunter's existence). Basically, I want to contribute to the MTX/Treasure Hunter solution conversation - but it seems every time it comes up, it turns into a debate on whether Old School is still being held up by Treasure Hunter's revenue, and nothing productive is ever discussed.

This is how much we earn from MTX therefore membership now needs to be £695 per month

When WOW released the rainbow pony mount it made more money than 10 years of subs. They told their players that and the players were like "ok cool" and kept paying their monthly fees while the credit card nerds cracked out on mtx. Everyone just needs to know their place.

Fundamentally disagree. People don't care about the realities they just cafe about a narrative in their heads. Take Twitch for example. We have the numbers to know Twitch is not profitable yet whenever they do something to become more profitable the company is "evil and greedy"

I don't think removing treasure hunter is going to help. It would only hurt RS3 more. I can't imagine a new player beginning RS3 and actually having to work to skill and earn gp when everybody else is loaded in gp & xp from when treasure hunter existed? 🫤 and bonds are 130m

RS3 exists to take the hit so osrs can live

This assumes they don't make nearly 100 million in PROFIT, every year. Its all greed, there is no reason to compensate for anything other than lining shareholder pockets.

Well said. I believe that Jagex could do some good by treating its player base like adults. They are almost there with how they take feedback and provide drop rates. This would be a great solution. But big corpos won't do it.
