Diljit Dosanjh says, “I want Amritsar Sahib to be announced as a dry state, like Gujarat.” He also suggested starting a campaign for a “Dry State” and requested the administration to declare a “Dry Day” on the day of his concert. He stated that he will not sing songs about alcohol. During his concert in Ahmedabad, Diljit Dosanjh announced that he will never sing about alcohol if all the states in India declare themselves as “Dry States.” He added that he does not consume alcohol and has never endorsed it. It is unacceptable and undoubtedly shameless on the part of the Narendra Modi Indian government that has continuously allowed Khalistani propaganda to poison young minds in Punjab through America & Canada (West) based Punjabi entertainers. Enough is enough, I as a Sikh citizen of India demand, blanket ban on Diljit Dosanjh in India including his social media handles Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

But not once did he actually mention India. Not even in passing. If you are celebraty and appearing on a massive global platform, you would introduce yourself with your country and not only the state. Is this just strong regional pride or a very calculated branding move where "Punjab" is the identity he wants to push internationally? I have seen, it's becoming a pattern across his interviews. What's your view?

Channelising the Punjabi within :) At a time when so much of recent Punjabi culture seems to have been influenced by drugs and alcohol, DILJIT DOSANJH invocation of pure religiosity and the joie de virve of Punjab has captured the imagination of people across the world, much more than what one could have imagined. Don’t think there’s ever been a bigger global Punjabi star. Never seen so many non-Punjabis do the Bhangra in one place :) And they seemed to know the lyrics as well. Nicely done DILJIT DOSANJH paaji … keep the music and the magic going …

In the last 35 years, hardly any celebrity has bothered to visit, let alone showcase, Kashmir’s Shaivist heritage. It’s heartening to see DILJIT DOSANJH praying at the Shri Adi Shankaracharya Temple in Srinagar a few days ago. Setting aside his political statements, Diljit Dosanjh has consistently supported faiths across all lines, much like the men and women leading top offices. Have seen videos show him praying at Ujjain and Darbar Sahib, wearing a turban, and folding his hands in reverence, just as he enthusiastically supported India’s top businessman, Mukesh Ambani, at their wedding this year.
