March 29, 2024 - Death of Louis Gossett Jr, mostly remembered by us, aviation fans, for his role as Col. Charles "Chappy" Sinclair, in the Iron Eagle series, as seen here. Even though he was a fictional character, he was inspired in the real life Daniel “Chappy” James, who in 1975, made history as the first African American four-star general in the United States Armed Forces. An highly-decorated fighter pilot, he trained pilots in WWII, and flew combat missions in both Korean & Vietnam wars.
