All these years later it's still a wonderful song. In 1985, it was released in the USA after the Arena tour. In Canada, it hit twice 1983 and 1985.

Their videos were a revolution compared to all previous videos of other bands, recorded in the studio in front of plastic scenes. We were all blown away by their music and videos.

“Hungry Like the Wolf” is the second single from Duran Duran’s 1982 album Rio. The song's success was fueled in large part by its cinematic music video, filmed in Sri Lanka and directed by Russell Mulcahy. Inspired by adventure films such as Raiders of the Lost Ark, the video became one of MTV's most heavily rotated clips and played a crucial role in transforming Duran Duran into one of the biggest bands of the early 1980s. According to Simon Le Bon, the title was inspired by Little Red Riding Hood, with the "wolf" serving as a metaphor for desire and pursuit. The combination of exotic imagery, adventurous storytelling and the song's infectious energy helped create one of the defining videos of the MTV era.

“Maneater” was written by Daryl Hall, John Oates and Sara Allen for the 1982 album H2O. Oates had a reggae sketch he had been working on with Edgar Winter. Hall kept the chords and changed the groove. Released in September 1982 as the album’s first single, it spent four weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, longer than any of the duo’s other chart-toppers. It reached No. 6 in the UK. The saxophone solo is Charles DeChant, who also appears in the video.

“Cruel Summer” was released in 1983 as a standalone single by Bananarama and was later included on the American edition of the group’s 1984 self-titled album. Inspired by a rare heatwave in London, the song captured the frustration and restlessness of a sweltering city summer, while its video was filmed in New York during another bout of intense heat. The single reached #8 in the UK, but it was its inclusion in The Karate Kid (1984) that gave it major exposure in the United States, where it reached #9 on Billboard Hot 100 and became Bananarama’s first American Top 10 hit.
