A rare glimpse at the territorial nature of wolf packs. Instances like this probably happen regularly as wolves aim to maintain/expand their territory and eliminate neighboring wolves (i.e., competitors for resources). These snippets show the breeding pair of the Windsong Pack venturing out of their territory to chase the breeding male of the neighboring pack (the Blood Moon Pack). If the Windsong Pack had caught up to this wolf, they would have undoubtedly killed him. But they didn’t. The chase did not last very long—a handful of minutes with a straight-line distance of just under a mile. The first clips of the chase were from a camera on the edge of a beaver dam. The breeding male of the neighboring pack (Wolf Y1T) crossed the dam and clearly knew he was being followed. A minute later, the Windsong Pack passed by in pursuit. The next clips were captured about 4 minutes later on a second camera just under a mile to the north of the first one. On this second camera, Wolf Y1T was running full speed. However, the Windsong Pack while in pursuit, appeared to be slowing down. A minute later, the Windsong pair walks back past this camera…the chase had ended. About an hour after that, the Windsong Pack crossed the beaver dam that the first camera was on in their return trip to their territory. Interestingly, about 2 months after this video was captured, Wolf Y1T’s mate was killed by the neighboring pack to the south (Biondich Pack). Since the pack was only two wolves (Y1T and his mate), this event left Y1T by himself and the status of the Blood Moon Pack up in the air. However, within a few weeks, Y1T found another mate and through some series of events, Y1T and his new mate booted the Windsong pair (i.e., the wolves in this video pursuing Y1T) from their territory this past summer, and took it over. As such, Y1T and his mate (the Blood Moon Pack) currently occupy the Windsong Pack territory.

Cost to visit Disney for a Family of 5 “Here's what a day at Disney cost me for a family of 5 - Before we even got into the park, it cost me $30 just for parking - Even being a Florida resident, tickets for a family of 5 with 1 child under 10 was still $974 - Paying for the Lightning Lane was $35 per person and only would have given us speed access to 3 rides - Right after our first ride we bought 2 waters and 3 ice creams. They didn't like the options and the prices were outrageous, so we left and went somewhere else - We each ended up with a small pizza, each had a side and a small drink totaling $44.35 - Once we got to Star wars land, we had to buy some blue milk for $10.29. It tasted like a slushy with nerds on top - The kids then snuck away and bought some Star Wars Coca Cola. This was $6.50 - A Margarita was well needed. This was another $36 - Dinner at Formata Cocina for some Mexican food, $30 for carnitas, $19 margarita, $8 corn, $30 carne asada and then each of the kids with drinks and food were an additional $30 to $40 each, totaling $245.27 for dinner Right after that they all wanted to go shop. 25/26 SEASON* Matches attended: 18 Miles travelled: 1580.2 Pies eaten: 16 Pints drunk: 31 25th November MIDDLESBROUGH 2 COVENTRY 4 Riverside Stadium Sky Bet Championship I’ve been to three EPL matches and one Fourth Division Playoff final, but this was my first taste of the English Championship. With the top two facing off against each other, I was looking forward to a firecracker of a match, and I wasn’t disappointed. Middlesbrough appointed a new manager yesterday (a young, highly rated Swede), so the atmosphere was ramped up to welcome Kim Hellberg to the club. The away fans were in fine voice too, owing to their wonderful start under Frank Lampard. Boro had most of the possession in the opening exchanges, but were hit by a classic counter attack when Victor Torp ran from one box to the other and played it to ex Hearts striker Ellis Simms, who curled it into the far corner. Coventry doubled their lead three minutes later when they conceded a soft corner that they failed to deal with and Liam Kitching headed home. Morgan Whittaker gave Boro hope, but they went into the break 2-1 down. Boro came out of the blocks after the restart, and scored in the first few minutes. They then were the better side for the next half hour. Tommy Conway had been quiet up front but had the chance to be a hero when it was played to him on a plate in the six yard box after 75 minutes. He blazed over and that gave Coventry a boost. They scored two late goals to extend their lead at the top. A thoroughly entertaining game, and the most goals I’ve seen in 90 minutes this season. Getting a pint inside the stadium was nice, hopefully that’ll be an option every week in Scottish grounds next season.

We just got out of jail in Brussels. What a day! Huge thank you to Lois McLatchie Miller who handled all the craziness with perfection. She’s incredibly brave and put up with a lot of harassment, which is why we called police in the first place. 4 police vans and about 14 police showed up. I guess they thought it was easier to take care of us than the angry mob, so we were taken to a police station — after refusing to remove our signs and walk away — and told we were being charged with what translates as causing a disturbance of the peace. We were then handcuffed and transported to another police station. All of our possessions were taken and logged, I had to strip down to my underwear for a search, and we were put into jail cells. Thankfully, I was able to speak with Lois through the bars, as she was in the cell right next door. 😂 And after all that, guess what? No charges filed! That hasn’t stopped them from confiscating my signs, which I am told will be sent for destruction. In my opinion, this is abuse of authority and state-sanctioned censorship. We’re looking at legal options. Thank you to ADF International who I understand had lawyers at the police station while we were locked up. This behavior can’t be allowed to stand. He references culture, and this is exactly it. A child playing in a certain environment leads to that. Not every Argentinian child is on the national team, but it raises the ceiling. It creates a certain type of style and a certain type of player. Then Scaloni also references his culture. He sees them play without fear of losing. It comes from playing in an environment where you are constantly faced with the potential of losing and being able to play with that pressure, right? They don’t fight against it. They play with it. They use it. And I think this is where youth football coaches should really take note. This does not mean we should copy and paste Argentinian culture into every training environment, because culture cannot just be copied. But the values within that culture can be inculcated in every training environment. The value of the ball. The courage to receive it in small spaces. The ability to protect it under pressure. The confidence to keep playing after a mistake. The willingness to play with the possibility of losing rather than constantly trying to avoid it. Those values can become part of the environment we create every day. They can be present in the games we design, in what we praise, in what we allow players to struggle with, and in how we respond when they lose the ball. If every mistake leads to the coach stopping the session, giving the answer, or taking the pressure away, then players never learn to play with that pressure. They learn to wait for the coach. It was cool to see how two managers, at such a big stage, reference culture and the environments that kids play in when they’re young. Because the players we see on the biggest stage were not only created by tactics or coaching information. They were created by environments that taught them what to value, how to relate to the ball, and how to play when there was something to lose.
