UPDATE: The Illinois Tollway will vote on the biggest toll rate hike in state history this morning. If this measure is approved, I-Pass users would pay about 45 cents more per toll starting January 1, 2027. If you are a commercial truck driver, rates will increase about 30%. The rates would then automatically rise every year according to inflation, with no public hearings, every other year starting in 2029. The Tollway says the hikes would generate about $1 billion every year, and the money would be used for their latest construction projects. WGN TV News talked with commuters yesterday who aren’t thrilled with the increase. Will this change the way you commute if the rate hike is approved?

Only in Illinois does the loudest voice on “cheat the system” belong to JB Pritzker, who signed off on the same gerrymandered maps he vowed to veto during his campaign—you just can’t make this up! Back in 2018, he promised to veto any map “authored by politicians”—by 2021, he signed new district maps drawn heavily by House Democrats that forced Republicans to run against each other and even redrew the 3rd state Supreme Court district to lean more Democratic—all while scolding Republicans for not legitimizing a process that was supposed to be independent. JB Pritzker’s definition of “cheating the system” only applies when others do it, not Illinois Democrats. 🤡🌎

This is the clearest description of living under Democrats in Illinois in a little over 90 seconds. Aaron Del Mar: “They said we're going to build a tollway and once it's built, we're not going to tax anymore. They said the lottery is then going to pay for education, and where did that go? Then they said, we're going to put slot machines in every breakfast joint, every bar in Illinois, and that's going to pay for education. This video was shot by a train driver in Zimbabwe to show the decomposed railway system that now exists. Zimbabwe had one of the best railway systems in the world before independence, it competed with the British Railway system and its signals system was ahead of the British system. It was all destroyed under ZANUPF, there are no more regular passenger trains in Zimbabwe. The National Railways of Zimbabwe is run by the Government. Incompetent relatives and friends of ZANUPF politicians have been appointed as managers and directors, and they ran the company into the ground. Schools basically rank people “fairly” by how long they sat in a chair. In 1971, a former Catholic priest named Ivan Illich dropped “Deschooling Society” in which he argued that most real learning happens outside the classroom. His main argument was that the school system trains kids to wait for credentialed experts to hand them knowledge they could have grabbed themselves. He called it the “hidden curriculum”. The system measures opportunity by years attended instead of actual skill, and it conditions people to value the certificate over competence. Instead of “equalizing”, mandatory schooling just sorts everyone by time served inside the machine and pretends the result is justice. Illich’s straightforward alternative was to let people learn from peers and skilled practitioners in their own communities instead of letting an institution decide what counts as knowledge. In a hearing about ending sanctuary cities that have resulted in the murder of Americans, Sen. Durbin decides to attack me for not supporting the failed Gang of Eight immigration bill 13 years ago. I’m proud that I didn’t support it. It was bad policy that would’ve made our broken immigration system worse. But what an insult for him to do that in front of his constituent, an Illinois father whose daughter was killed in a hit-and-run by a drunk illegal alien – all while he refuses to fund ICE & supported the very open-border policies that resulted in this tragedy.
