Remember the code you see onscreen in the Terminator? I've analyzed, explained, and sourced it back to Nibble magazine in the 80s... here you go!

*I* wrote the COBOL code you see in Terminator 1. See my Pinned post. Some of it was from _73_ Magazine

Bender also runs on a 6502 which makes it and the T-800 somewhat related

You should also mention Robocop boots MSDOS 2.x

What's funny is the odds are pretty good Miles Dyson's original Skynet code (possibly written in 6502) may have survived into production of future Terminators. If it ain't broke, why fix it? Especially if it's a government military contract.

I have the same habit! When I'm watching hacker movie/show or a sci-fi thing with some code running on screen, I froze it to see what are there. Sometimes are some WinAPI code, others Python fragments. Usually they fragment and nothing actully could run for real. It's like a obsession! My wife don't like the pause sequences!

When I watched Terminator in cinema as a kid, I actually recognized the code, because around that time I was learning basics of assembly language (Z80 and 6502) from lessons in computer magazines

I remember PEEKing and POKEing commands on a Commadore PET before getting fully distracted by the BBC Micro Model B… which made 6502 assembler directly accessible from BBC basic. Enjoyed this video!

@_APEXnow_ Absolute yapper. Way too much filler to find the actual info. Content creation is not for boomers. Don’t you have a lawn to mow?
