I don't really have any problem with what they did there. Considering the head injuries he took later on, it was probably the right thing to do (please Josh McDaniels, teach him how to slide). That being said i've never seen anyone actively talk themselves out of a job more than Mayo did, for as good a player as he was it sucks that all i'll remember him for is the shitty 2024 Patriots
