They're finally here! Joe's T-shirts arrived at my place in Japan on Dec 22nd. I'm so happy! I’m going to race in this Joe’s T-shirt here in Japan!

Joe was a charismatic powerhouse with strong leadership, unwavering political beliefs, and an incredible burst of musical creativity. His one major misjudgment was probably listening to his manager and firing Mick Jones — another musical genius — over ideological differences.

@poguesofficial Philip Chevron wrote and recorded a wonderful ode to Joe Strummer with The Radiators From Space. Much of it reminisces about the recording of The Pogues album "Hell's Ditch", produced by Joe, in summer 1990.

I remember playing the first two Mescaleros albums to death, (London Calling was one of the first CDs I ever bought) and then the news came down that he was gone. Gone far too soon RIP Joe.

Joe Strummer is one brilliant singer

Joe Strummer brought the fire of punk, then pushed past its nihilism. A poet, a prophet, and a true believer in change. He kept evolving, kept listening, and helped open minds and the door to post-punk. He was a hero to me “The future is unwritten.”
