Remembering Shiv Kumar Batalvi Ji on his death anniversary (6 May 1973). While the 1960s were the time of Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley and Beatles on the international scene but Punjab was under the reign of 'Birha da Sultan' (the poet of separation & pathos). Always in our hearts!

A very dear friend of mine, Prof. Mewa Singh, has told me many stories about Shiv Kumar Batalvi over the years. They were great friends during their student days.

@amspak3 Such men are born to dissolve differences and build a bridge between hearts. For each heart pines for the same love no matter how distant they are from one another.

Shiv ki kya baat hai. He wrote his last poem on his deathbed named "Rukh" and what a beautiful poem it is.
